not bad-It's sort of like reversi with altered rules, a backstory and more players. on single player, I think it's odd that loosing to the immunity system is the same as losing to the viruses- not that it makes the game worse.
an impressive atari tribute. it bothers me that EVERY pixel must be found to move on; i'd rather have a special achievement for getting them all, or at least an easier mode. but retro= hard. and for those at a lost for that 64th pixel, look around the top left of the screen by the narrow vertical strips.
i really like the concept, but the game has it's issues, Which I'd love to see fixed: the AI paddle can't read how the curve alters the trajectory, and often misses. the curve can become strong enough to return the square back towards your own paddle. the playing screen is too small; after 5 returns reaction time is none, i'd be great if the camera zoomed out to give you more room....just some things I thought would make the game epic.
this would be a five star game if there was some point to creating different elements, besides more elements. a world that responds to your discoveries would be great; I hope this was just an experiment.
that chomping sound is kind of creepy, but the game is rather good considering it stars a spider. my winning web design, the one that caught 4 bats, was thick cross with a diamond center, reinforced at the edges...watching that spider eat several birds was awkward.
(spoiler alert)
there aren't many games like this, that try to show the player an ideal, but they're easy to spot. they're the short, modest titled games that are often boring in gameplay, but compels players to play (often twice) for it's deeper meaning, then end without giving them a definite answer. It is completely up to the player to decide what it is,if anything, they learned and how the lesson should be used...I played twice. on an obedience run the dangers you encounter become defined, things become clear, and the voice, though cold at first, is pleased and encouraging. when you disobey, things like spikes and enemies remain unidentified in red,the voice scoffs at you, and everything around you becomes pixilated and confusing. the voice never leaves you or misleads you, and have the final choice to meet the voice,or run from it's view.
none of what I wrote is an official,or complete interpretation. I just wrote to try to help those who didn't get it.
I HATE THE TOP PART OF tHe ScReEn!!! often I will fail a level simply because I ram the ceiling and will be thrown to the bottom.in the later levels the smallest ceiling collision will kill you; any block that hits you after that rebound will add just as much drag as a wall of blocks. if that could be toned down, This would be an awsome game.
A great story with a plot all too familiar, filled with great art and suiting music... though it's lagging in the "game" portion. it's way too straight forward to earn a 5/5...close though
the game has an awsome concept, with great artwork and animation to back it up; however, I just can't give a 5/5 to a game with such a glaring flaw. a tattered army of 346 shouldn't be able to insult a league of 2000 warriors into submission. the computer won against me 3 times that way.
pretty good, hard, but good. my only complaint is the guards don't see the bloody foot prints leading in the direction you ran. it would make things harder, but i would have liked to see a hard mode in this any way.
