Seriously, stop whining. You can't hit things because... wellm because you obviously haven't ever played classic RPGs and ADND-based games. Chance-to-hit depends on your attack skill, opponents defence skill and your relative positions. Then there is damage vs PV - you may hit but be unable to deal damage. I'm in mid-game with lvl6 units now and I rarely, I mean rarely ever miss.
And for those of you who can't hit anything - well, try general's tactic specials. Is it just me who goes on killing sprees with 200+ dmg for each hit?
May be increasing hp of ranged spiders and decreasing their dmg dramatically may help. Cause melee spiders obviously lose to ranged ones, and ranged spiders vs ranged spiders when AI is that stupid and 1 shot kills a spider is not challenging at all.
Besides numerous minor flaws that make the game a lot less anjoyable than it could have been, the balance is ... strange?
I didn't find how to use the last three spiders. They simply have no serious advantages over the previous ones and cost a lot more. All my campaign missions were done with the red melee spider and the first yellow ranged one. Skirmishes are won by red spiders alone.

Yes, we are different. Sorry, it may be sad, shitty, but its true. We have females that are trying to be males, much rarer - males that are trying to be females, but it all works pretty bad.
Females are much more social, than males. By nature. Plus, their maternal insticts can't be compared to the paternal love. Just tenfold stronger. Males are much more competitive, agressive, goal-oriented and cold-minded. You can try placing nails with a screwdriver, big deal. But we are different, we do different things, we have different responsibilities, we love each other the way we are. We are not sexist, we don't use the stupid PC term anyway.

All I'm saying is that females and males are equal in terms of respect and basic human rights, but historicaly and biologicaly have different responsibilities and strengths.
I don't mean it's women that terrorise men. I just want to point out that poor women supressed by men is a really-really stupid perspective. Male primate ALWAYS sustained females. In any monkey/ape species the male is the one who gets food, the female is the one who raises kids. It's normal, it's nice, it works with a little effort. And females have a right to demand food from their males, and males have a right to demand parental care and householding from their females. If they fail to live with these mutual responsibilities, they turn to violence. from both sides. Females are just more social than physical in this respect.

Seriously, storyline is not just cheesy, it's ridculous. Yeah, domestic violence. Works both ways, actually. Not to mention the fact that a female is usually the one who is in charge in a traditional marriage, wether the guy knows it or not. So if you count in all that people that spent their lives working and working and buying stuff and working for money on a job they hate just because their wives need money, we can make a game about killing housewives with headshots.
