The game reveals what kind of people we are with regards to our relationships with other people and our ability to compromise. Obeying makes things easier because the pathway is revealed and the game becomes a standard vanilla platformer with a success condition of making it to the end. Rebelling against the people who have power over us makes the trip an abstract and difficult process because the way isn't always clear without their “guidance”. In the end, it’s about balance: 1) The last part where you should not fail is a decent enough request, there's no point failing just to spite someone and 2) At the start, follow the voice and jump over the barbs, this will create the detailed barbs. Later on, when the voice tells you not to touch the statue (for the second time), disobey and jump down. The colors will slowly remove the barbs and create a pathway. Follow it and the voice will say "Even here you search for me". 5/5
Making an art game is no excuse to simplify gameplay mechanics for the sake of the artistic meaning- unless that's what you intended, which I doubt it be- you might as well be writing an essay.
The artistic statement is a pain to read as well; your ideas keep jumping here and there with pronouns that suddenly change the meaning of the sentence forcing you to reread it and you cite ambiguous literary references without caring to explain, causing the written work to end up like mash-up of ideas.
2/5, You can make it clearer without surrendering the meaning of the work.
@matto765 I dont understand what makes this game homosexual, Aardman is just trying to replicate the same childish tone and style that made the source material (Shaun the Sheep) MEANT for kids.
And as a game for kids, they would naturally want kids stumbling onto this game to enjoy it.
4/5 if meant for the target demographic (kids)
3/5 if meant for everyone else since, yes, it is too easy.
Wow, this is really nice game to relax by. There's no pressure to finish the level quickly, there's no penalty for clicking the wrong place (Though that would mean the player can just click anywhere; but then that player would be fooling no one but himself). I had a long day today and the surreal dream-like elements just made my day. 5/5 :)
