The crystals seem to be a really nice addition. Plus, if you really want something more quickly, you can still pay for it. The crystals make it possible for anyone to (after some time) buy it. Personally, I was starting to get rather bored of this game, then the crystals tab was added. Now, I'm interested again.
Nice. It reminds me of Double Dragon. One thing I really like about it is the Level Select screen. (No need to sit there for hours upon hours, trying to beat all the levels) However, I agree with Jiberish001 and skiffles... You should be able to pick up any loot/food that remains, when a level ends, and riding freed dinosaurs, as Martha Stewart (Gourmet chef who seems to like using alcohol in everything she cooks) would say, "It's a good thing." (Good idea, I mean) Because of the auto-progression-upon-defeat-of-every-enemy, this gets a 4/5 from me. (It WOULD get at least 5/5, because it even has the option to choose which character to fight as, but auto-progression cuts its rating down to 4/5) Good game, overall, though. It just needs a little more fine-tuning, for the coveted fifth star (or beyond).
Yikes.... Great game, but... I can't find where I accidentally threw the orb.... It'd be REALLY appreciated, if the orb (once it's been grabbed the first time) showed up on the mini map. I seem to have lost it... in the tutorial level! I can't find where the orb went, so I can't finish the tutorial.
Thump, thump, thump.... Another badge hits the dust.... Thump, thump, thump.... Another badge hits the dust.... And another one goes, and another one goes... Another badge hits the dust... (Now, if only I were singing that as a victory song......) Neat game, though. Rather original, too. (The closest to it that I've played is "Thousand Arms" on the Playstation) However, it only deserves 5 stars, in my opinion.... Still, you made this game really well, Nerdook. Keep up the excellent programming.
I'm OK, if a game gets a little repetitive... Just as long as it isn't from having to try the same fight (The Big Fat Tub O' Lard, or whatever) over and over again. The big problem, though, is the fact that you lose all that you've bought, whether you continue or not.... Sure, there's that necklace, but I'm not sure I want to fight for the money to buy that, then hope it'll be enough... I'd rather buy more of the other things instead. Fortunately, you can replay story levels. So, you're able to earn enough money, to re-buy stuff, at least.... Still, it'd be nice if you didn't have to re-buy stuff you already bought. Overall: 4/5. (This game has lots of potential, though.... So, it's a high 4, at least.)
I know the answer will likely never be found, but.... Where and/or when did he even GET that gun, in the first place? (One possibility for a prequel, which plays a little more like an RPG, where you go through whatever quests, and eventually get that gun)
Nice game... If only you could either.... 1. Buy a sword, and/or a boomerang, with the gold you gained up to level 10, or.... 2. Use that gold to buy this kid something for breakfast. Maybe if he wasn't starving, he could walk faster. I gave it a 4/5, though. It's fun.... but... It's not good enough for 5 stars. Plus, there's the spelling errors............ Because of them, this game barely earned 4 stars. I'd like to personally spellcheck the first sequel (Especially if I were paid United States Dollars or Japanese Yen for doing so).
Spelling errors can really dampen things.... Especially if reading is the only way to tell what's going on. Fortunately, this had some artwork, plus a live reading of the story. Still, bad spelling= Subtraction of quality. My rating: 4/5..... Next time, also use a spellchecker, or study the correct spelling of words, please.
I agree with Alaskabob... More save files than 1 would be GREAT..... (It's impossible to really play each class, unless you're willing to delete the last class you played as.....) Other than that, though, this is a great game.
I seem to be playing it in Hiragana (Japanese text... Probably not the right translation of the word, though)..... I REALLY want to learn it, yet I haven't learned much of it at all.... So, I just have to guess what it's trying to tell me. Fun game, though.... (Hope it didn't say DON"T LET HIM GET HURT in the instructions......) Not sure about the rating, since (as I just said) I might be doing things completely wrong.....
Also sorry about this second comment. (I split one comment into two, this is the second part) It actually 'loaded'... but all I see is the 'Please wait' screen, and an empty bar which isn't filling at all....

Perhaps add badges which are only rewarded if you get to level x withOUT loading a save file? Then, both the Badges AND the save files could be put in. (Just an idea, and I don't know if this even has the required Kongregate API) Also... Is this actually a game? It won't load for me. I'll try again, though... (I even tried clicking the screen) Sorry for the long comment.
(Person visiting an Inn): "Hmm, this Inn looks nice, so many beds... I'd like to rest here. [pays 30 gold to the Innkeeper] Now, which bed's mine, for the night?"
(Innkeeper): "Thank you for the money. Go ahead and sleep right where you're standing."
(Person visiting an Inn): "But there are so many beds, and I paid 30 gold coins!"
(Innkeeper): "The beds HAVE to be there, or I couldn't call this an 'Inn'. Trust me, you'll be perfectly safe for the less-than-a-second of sleep that you'll require."
(Person visiting an Inn): "I'll have to file a complaint about this 'Inn!'"
(Innkeeper): "Hey, I've heard rumors that other Inns charge more, for the same service. Still, I keep my price this low, because the monsters outside don't carry much gold."
(Person visiting an Inn): "FINE..... [lays down on the floor]"
(Innkeeper): "WHAT are you doing?! DO NOT lay on my floor!"
Oh, man... Where's the phone? I want to see how much money's in my bank account! (That's how much this reminds me of Earthbound) Also, the accuracy-bar, or whatever it is, should be slowed down.... One more: The town name.... It's the color that's rather 'dominant' in the first town. I wonder if it's the same with the rest?
NICE.... I entered my name, and the game said.... my last name wrong. It got my first name perfectly right, though! That alone deserves some of the stars, at least... I haven't actually played it yet, though, so I have no idea if it's that good of a game (though Nerdook makes great games)
Whew.... Answering my own question: Yes, it does save where you were. You're asked (next time you play) if you want to continue, or not... Really good, for those who can't (at the moment) afford to spend 18 (or more) hours on a game. 5/5 (I haven't yet decided that it deserves one of my overmax ratings, though). Great work.
Does this save your current stage, or is e v e r y g a m e a 'new game?' (Even better would be an unlockable 'Stage Select' where you pick any stage you've been to, but I'd be happy with just it saving where I currently was in the story, so I could pick up where I left off)
He might like it better, if it were a game, instead of a boring platformer that doesn't actually 'end' at all... (Not in a good way, either) Still, for its purpose... It might get the message across. (So long as he doesn't simply stop playing it, that is) Plus, I'd like to double the message. (He's not my father, though, so replace the one word with his name)
