i would like to see a news function. when your town has been upgraded or a quest has been completed when your not logged on, as soon as you log on there will be a pop up telling you all the things you missed while you were away. so if in my town i was working on something and a townmate finished it while i was away it would let me know and by who rather than having to go to it to find out who did it.
