Fun remake of a classic. The only real complaint I have is the enemy AI...it cheats, big time. As a test, I scattered the map with tons of mines on a few levels, and never ONCE did the enemy hit a mine. I've seen mines get hit when I only had one...but you'd think having ten would increase the likelihood of a hit.
I hate this hard badge...My best is 4040, and I have no idea what it boils down to in terms of real time. I know I beat it in about 3:30 and that's not good enough :(
"Ok, sir, I got rid of the bugs. Forty dollars, please.";
"...is that a battle-axe?";
"That's one hundred and seven battle-axes. Forty dollars, please."
Ok, I've played this over and over and over, following all the recommendations listed here, and I still can't even get past level 7. The difficulty is too random, and the penalty for even a single mistake is far too high on such early levels. For example, as soon as I clicked to begin level 6, four asteroids were already on-screen (three of them were the larger of the two varieties available at this stage), barreling towards Earth. I had three sledge guns, but I didn't have time to even slow down all of the asteroids. *ONE* of them made it through, and did 37% damage. The next cluster that spawned was similar in makeup, and *ONE* more made it through, doing another 30% damage. In just two hits, I was down to 1/3 health. That is excessive.
Cool...managed to get a colossal planet tidally locked in the same orbit as the asteroids that spawn, but going the opposite direction. Take THAT, civilized population!
I hate when I'm stuck on an airplane that isn't allowed to land due to other fully-loaded craft teleporting onto the tarmac. Cool game, very addictive.
I love that the girl's name is an anagram of "Love Interest"...and that's about as deep the characterization gets on most Final Fantasy games.
Loved this game, though I would've liked an option to just be able to scroll over the text once you get to the final dot so the line isn't in the way.
Really fun game, but some minor tweaking and polishing could make it great.
A couple minor suggestions: 1) It would be a nice if we could target a bug by clicking its portrait, instead of just the bug itself. Sometimes, its hard to get the one in the middle position if it's one of the flying ones that bobs up and down. 2) Maybe add weapon speeds, so multiple quick attacks can be made in one round, but slower ones may leave you vulnerable for a round (ie, Deadeye could be a 100% chance to hit, but leave you unable to take an action the next turn). 3) This is pretty insignificant, but if the Alien gun is the only one that uses Cells, and it uses a minimum of 3 cells a shot, why not just multiply the price of Cells by 3, and reduce the number of cells required per shot to 1 (power shot could be 2 cells). Just a thought...it kinda seems like an odd distinction to make it take 3 cells. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one bugged by this.
Dear bottle-balancing guy: I'm sorry I shot you in the testicles a bunch of times. In the future, please throw the bottles *over* me instead of *at* me. Thank you. That is all.
Woot, got the survival gold, finally. Thanks for all the hints, everyone. Also, in the time it took me to type this comment, Nerdook finished four more games.
Fun game, but survival mode is brutal...I've tried following the various tips posted here, but by the time I get to the 23rd wave, bosses are coming through so fast that my towers are all being cheesed faster than I can replace them...and sometimes I get several Wraths coming through at once and they flat-out delete everything. Also, the stealth boss seems to be able to cheese Eye towers several rows ahead of him, which makes him a particular pain.
Anyone else have this trouble? I don't see many complaints on difficulty here, so I'm guessing it's my strategy that's the issue...any advice?
I also tend to have over a hundred spare souls by that time, so it's not like I'm running out...but bottom blocks being cheesed necessitates replacing the entire stack above the cheesed one, so most of my towers are in cooldown while bosses just stroll around.
