Really, I have to say this game is a breath of fresh air. Here on Kongregate, we see knock-offs so often that we don't fully appreciate original work when it comes around. You could have just copied some already successful game, but no.. Then your integrity wouldn't have shone through! Maybe you could call the sequel "Angry Lawyers".
I Sooooooo liked where this game was going, but I really would have loved a bit more depth to it. Maybe one more layer after the girlfriend? (I wanted some crab revenge, bad)
Great game you got here! Love the pixel art style. The houses remind me of Paperboy. ONE thing is irking me though... I wish you had a bit better description of each character's projectile. For example, the Ninjas throw three stars but the only way to know if when you play with them. Also, something showing the order of character unlocks would be nice! Great work! (PS, Want a pretty kick ass starter group? Try all ninjas, maybe a fairy for healing)
Awesome game! Some people might not like the mouse-only controls, but I feel they work great.
Only got one big complaint: The game quickly becomes repetitive. Really, there isn't a sense of progress. You just play the same level over and over with a few more blue guys running around. I think there are some easy ways to fix this. First off, BOSSES and MINI-BOSSES. Seriously. Every third wave or so there needs to be a special challenge. Just think about it! Big enemy general with a horde of soldiers around him? Fun! Giant tank a la Metal Slug? Hell yeah. Also, some new level backgrounds are desperately needed.
Fun game you have here! I'd think it would be fair to say that this is more of a homage to the original Flash Portal than Portal 2, but it's still a lot of fun! Couple of obervations/thing I noticed: Default added inertia through portals when feet are off the ground: Lightly hopping into a portal can LAUNCH you out the other side much faster. Controls are a little funky, frame rate seems low for what is happening on screen...
Here's my big gripe though: Portal uses lots of right click. If you right click on accident, that stupid pop-up menu WONT GO AWAY until you do something like hit esc. ESC is a no-confirm exit the level hot key!! ARG!!!!!!
I find it a bit frustrating that the teacher's field of view indicator seems to have absolutely no bearing on when you will get detected. I've been got when at 90 degrees to the teacher's field of view!
For some reason, I really, really wanted to hate this game. After playing though, I have to admit you have a decently solid fighting game. I wanted to talk crap, but it's obvious you've put a ton of work into this. Can't talk too much crap, unless we're talking about the voice acting... Honestly, it kind of sounds like you pushed a script into one of your buddies hands and knocked out a stack of "one take wonders".
Great game! I really enjoy platformers with solid controls and pixel aesthetics. I liked the style throughout the game, and I think you put some great details in there.
A couple thoughts that I think could improve the game: After a little while, the enemies became a little routine. I like that you mixed it up with a bunch of different characters, but after a while they all feel the same. The bosses ended up being very easy, as was the overall gameplay. Now that I think about it, I've actually played through twice, and I haven't died a single time. A bit more of a challenge makes for a more rewarding experience when you finish the game. The being said, really enjoyed your work.
Seems like a lot of work for a crap rock-paper-scissor game.. Hey, look in this chest! I found a.... level. ok... Seriously though, Twoflower wasn't some evil scowling guy. Cohen the Barbarian used a sword, not a mace, and Rincewind.. well, I guess you didn't screw him up too bad. That being said though, the game is pretty much crap. You walk around a maze and every once in a while fight a random number generator.
Nice artwork and music I guess.
Hmm... Lets see. Brown protagonist name Jerome... Stereotypically "black" things being shouted in bad obviously faux-blaccent... Yup. Congrats. You made a racist game that isn't even much fun. Hope you're proud of yourself!
I'd review the game if there were one, but I'm going to call this a "flash toy".
Seriously. Can you lose the "game?" no. How long does it take to beat? About 19 seconds. Is there any replay value? No, but that's OK because after you beat it, it just says "The End" and you have to refresh if you want to play again..
Seems like you put a lot of work into something that could have actually been a game.
