5d - Stay alive while the horde smacks on your door. Just have at least 30 soldiers + whatever you sent to do the victory condition, and hopefully enough police stations to afford to lose a few. You can count on a horde raid every two turns, so do the math and figure you need to survive getting your teeth kicked in 5 times before you win by default. Having a large area helps here, but it's more important to have a ton of soldiers. When you go for the win, stop trying to do anything else but defend, and convert all your survivors to soldiers.
Following this, I won without too much issue, though it did take a while. I like this because it removes almost all the "luck" of the game.
5c - now you're marching to one of the four victory conditions. I'd advise you pick one and ignore the others, and I'd also advise not going for the "fill the board" condition. Evil graveyard will require 15 spare soldiers. City hall will require 5 spare leaders. Both require that you kill zombies at the location multiple times. Alternatively, get 3 research stations and 5 scientists (read : not six), and just win that way. All 3 of these take 10 enduring turns.
5b - research asap. Only grow to meet immediate needs, but continue to explore. Be sure to keep killing zombies and try to get a school to help you shift. Having 3-5 scientists was a good number (I found) to rise up the tech tree quickly. Malls and police stations are great, as they'll free up more units to kill zombies and cultivate the land. If you must expand, expand towards a wall or one of your objectives (evil graveyard / city hall)
5a - getting the bare essentials and not being wiped out immediately - grab real estate (esp apartments), and keep a good quantity of builders on hand. Use survivors, scientists, and scavengers (in that order) to explore. Use your leaders to get more survivors as quickly as possible, even if it hurts your food and morale. Kill with your soldiers as much as possible, and only keep enough (they don't have to be soldiers) on defense to help against raids. If you keep the zombies at bay you won't get raided. This phase ends once you are solvent in food and have a research station
That is one difficult achievement on "harder". Here's how I did it:
1 - explore quickly. People and food do not appear to vanish in time, though I'd grab them fast enough, especially food before you are solvent.
2 - having more area is helpful to have more soldiers, but the quantity of zombies is proportionate to the size of your border. So try to get to an edge or corner to limit access to your base.
3 - Second to survival is research. Research damage upgrades first and foremost, focusing especially on zombie vitals, radio, and food preservation.
4 - Take risks, especially early. 20% risk means you have a 4/5 chance of your soldier you sent out to kill do exactly that without issue. It's far more important to kill zombies than take land, so keep killing and searching as much as possible.
5 - The game basically goes in four phases
For those of you who are trying to do this in AS3, I advise you make destructor methods, and even consider making an abstract parent class that handles all of your necessary parameters automatically (speed, registering EnterFrame, a generic destructor method). Also, if you are having trouble with a ship always appearing in the begining, that is because you didn't delete the enemy ship from the first frame. This was tough for me, because I couldn't find it behind my own ship.
I'm guessing its an AS2 thing, but I set this.x to 0, and it scrolls just fine.
package {
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.Event;
public class Background extends MovieClip {
private var scrollSpeed;
private var scrollWidth;
public function Background() {
scrollSpeed = 1;
scrollWidth = 2110;
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,EnterFrame);
}
function EnterFrame(e:Event):void {
this.x -= scrollSpeed;
if (this.x < -1 * scrollWidth) {
this.x = 0;
}
}
}
}
For those of you who are OOP fans like me, and really want to learn AS3, Here's the class from this example redone for AS3. It has the exact same functionality, uses most of the same conventions, and borrows a bit from NG BBS

(will paste in segments to allow for 1000 character limit)
Congratulations! You just won the Feat Franatic Badge and 30 points!
scraping rod for the 100 multi, Fast ship on easy for the 2 levels without getting hit. Everywhere else I liked the strong ship with classic / missile and the heart, cash magnet and coin salvager. Once you get enough cash, switch out the money perks for dodger and courtesy ship.
Great^1000000000 Grandfather
Dude! You just completed the Great^1000000000 Grandfather achievement in Microbe Kombat and won the Great^1000000000 Grandfather badge and 15 points!
Should have been worth 30
challenging, but you guys wine too much. Compared to other skill games out there this one is fairly simple. Only gripe would be that I have a decent mouse, so why is it jagged? Allow us to adjust quality perhaps? 4/5
Not balanced. Be diana, build an army with assassins (master = better), virgins, and mullah, build your stats to 95 str, 99 dex, spread between katar and spirit (no need to max spirit, just enough to keep unholy breath on all battle), and then put the rest into crossbow. Build your auras first, then your passive skills and katar skills. By the time you can conquer your own region, the game becomes super easy.
