Why is there no time-without-a-piece-falling win mechanic??? If all the pieces are on the playing field and 100 points tick by without a piece falling, you should automatically get a "win" even if one piece is jiggling back and forth by a pixel or two.
How is it a good idea to not let us see what a weapon does in the actual weapons shop? Want to understand a weapon? You'll just need to read about it during a level while the timer is counting down!
Best strategy to get the upgrades: Grind mission 1 on 3x speed to get "Expert" rating. You will need to have 1 upgraded basic towers so you can kill everything in 1-hit and then can send all waves really early to get the "Expert" rating for 11x2 upgrade points (22pts). Rinse and repeat for quick upgrading.
Once you buy the golden gun and tank, throw money at bombs to easily have enough ammo and power for the 3,000,000 achievement. After that, it's a grind that depends entirely on luck. You will probably hit floating spike-balls on 20+ tries in a row before you get the hard achievement.
If you're just going for the medium "best of 2007" badge, the easiest level to get a perfect on is NOT the first "easy" level. Instead, try #7 "My heart up your...". It is by far the shortest song (which is great if you miss one stupid note and need to reset - you don't waste much time) and there are enough notes to push to keep you engaged with the song. The more challenging part of it is not bad and only about 30 seconds in, so if you mess up you won't have wasted as much time before resetting. As a contrast, the "easy" level may not have as many notes to push as quickly, but it is about 2x the time to finish (so you waste a lot more time on retries) and requires a more rhythmic guesswork to get the timing of notes right. Thinking of saving up and buying the 500k Gun? Don't. It's terrible and will leave you without cash or the ability to buy meaningful upgrades during hard levels. You might have to restart as the game gives no option to "sell back" purchases that you regret, and grinding early levels is also not possible until you beat the game.
Is there any way to get the 100 headshot badge if you came up short before beating the final boss? It doesn't make sense that you should have to restart.
If you want to beat this game, be sure to first eat, use the bathroom, and put the rest of your life entirely on hold because the developers don't seem to think that we would enjoy access to a "pause" button.
The fact that computer lag is such a huge part of a game where fractions of seconds count should disqualify it for being part of the "Best of 2007" badge.
I know what my A.I. teammates will do! I just think of the most illogical and/or useless move (like repeat attacks on the only shielded enemy). That's the move they will do.
Here's another bug: If you return to earth and relaunch when your speed is 1,000,000,000+ mph, you will no longer be able to stop at planets. Selecting and deselecting "skip clear planets" does not fix it.
Rewards from alien transmissions stop working after about 10 planets. The options keep appearing, but clicking to receive the transmission does nothing. Home broadcasts still work.
Trying to cast spells while maneuvering is really clunky. If the spell keys were "Z"-"X"-"C" or "shift"-"alt"-"space" or something similar the left thumb could be used to cast spells more fluidly.
Also ---- Increase gun damage to max -> Still takes multiple shots to kill stage 1 monsters. WTF?
Fighting to influence allegiance stopped working. When I go to conflict-worlds fighting is never an option anymore. Is this an intentional game mechanic? Is my only way to convert a world really to just sit and wait while light (or dark) goods slowly replenish? I hope this is a bug. I have nearly 1M gold... because I can't do combat, it's all about just sitting and waiting now.
