Seems easy. Completed without a single survivor casualty, ended up having 5 just sitting around doing nothing. Either I'm very lucky, or they've made it easier, as earlier complaints said survivors died way too much. Trick is to only put 2 and 3 melee skill survivors in the search category - high melee keeps them alive (so you keep the survivor AND don't take Moral penalties), search skill is far less important. If possible, keep only Melee 3 survivors on there, and keep the numbers low (less than 4) until you get more Melee 3 survivors. Don't get people killed and you'll get higher moral, which also improves things. Also, consider not searching early on for a couple of turns (just deselect the search area) and saving up for the survivor beacon - very worth it.
Ran into a bug where I got to the planet then returned, but it wouldn't let me land (just kept bouncing forever). I did get some fuel which let me take off again, but when I landed a second time, same deal. The big issue was there was no way to reset the game (R didn't work once I'd touched down!) which meant I lost the entire run's coins and achievements. An annoying glitch on an otherwise good game.
The Ravii are a bit over-powered after playing through a few of the campaigns. It's just too easy to get two Nanobot Carriers (+2 regen for all allies) on the board, or hit the enemy with a Nanobot Swarm (-2/-2 to enemies), and put them in an unwinnable situation. They're just too good at attrition games, I find.
