This game is broken in so many ways AND boring. Ending was a huge anticlimax too. Limited controls, limited variety and difficulty curve, unnecessary upgrades, meaningless choices all over the place.
"What's the matter General?"
"It doesn't seem very sporting... I mean we can surround ourselves in an impenetrable shield. Surely we should just leave it on and wait for them sue for peace?"
"They Are still shooting sir!"
"Yes but we're upgrading their shots before returning them. That's just not natural! Or sporting."
I don't know if it's so incomplete because you ran out of time but the game is completely broken. You have to resupply constantly without pause to keep all the bots alive. That removes the one thing you're supposedly meant to manage. You can't clearly see the route the robots are going to take nor can you clearly see the enemies in the way so you can't really prioritize. If you fix everything then all you've done is re-invent missile command. Finally the flavour adds nothing to the game: you never see Prof. Malevolent and the game doesn't seem steampunk at all. If that's an intentional dig at all the Meatboy plot styled indie games out there at the moment it fell a bit flat.
So yeah. Sorry. Hated it.
This game deals in too many contradicting extremes to be fun.
You can move anywhere by clicking! Except when the game decides to put an impassable barrier of saws down somewhere awkward. You can kill most things in 1 hit! Except all the things that teleport, explode in your face or just take 6 hits just because of armor and dumb luck. You should plan a path for maximum carnage! Except click spamming works miles better and we'll throw enemies at you so fast it becomes irrelevant. Collect sushi! Except when you're in slomo which is all the time. But it doesn't matter anyway because you won't be able to move without touching a golden sushi.
None of the elements mesh well and it just ends up in a mouse button mash. Also the last achievement is bugged and is awarded before the game is finished and if you continue to play after the game is over it keeps repeating the ending song.
How to beat the last boss: Slow time (your weapons recharge at normal speed). Immediately rush the boss and fire off shard shield (most damaging weapon) followed by lightning (2nd most damaging weapon) and then shard shield again. The boss cannot kill you before you kill it as long as you rush.
Its very simple to rack up infinite combos in this game which means there's basically no time pressure to serve the drinks and you can screw up very badly without losing a life. The challenges are quite hard though the VS mode is just a slog.
