daaaaaannnnggg. That is hard. Stupid bunnies! Stop getting in my way of killing real zombies! You're not helping, you broken down piece of junk old car!
I love this game. It has no premise, no goal and no objective, yet it's one of the coolest games I've seen in a while. Wonderful graphics, the system is well worked out, and there's a huge realm of possibilities. 5/5
very unusual. A bit disturbing, but not terribly so. What makes me laugh is this game seems like an evil cousin to Grow. Graphics are decent, if a bit weird. Creative images, 3/5.
I'm not exactly sure what to say about this game. It rather defies categorization, clear cut rating and definition. As an experience, it was beautiful. The graphics paint a lush world that really brings you in. The only problem is that with everything moving so fast, the goal of lighting the lights seems to distract from taking in the experience. To be honest, though, I think this game may be a little ahead of its time. It seems to take so much concentration that it seems to be built with hyper reflexes in mind. That said, good effort. The graphics are sublime and the idea is cool. Ground it a little more in playability and comprehension and make more levels and it would be good. As is, 3/5.
This game had me hooked. Controls are a little unorthodox, but still very intuitive. Graphics are good. Not spectacular, but pretty well animated. My only complaints are the lack of deeper character levellling capabilities and the blood got a little tiring to see after awhile 4.5/5
This is a good game. It manages to pay homage to Mario without being a total ripoff. The clone aspect is new and innovative and makes the game more interesting. The graphics are authentic and really do have that old nintendo feel. My one complaint is the fact that the difficulty curve is pretty steep, and while the game is engaging, this isn't enough to make the difficulty irrelevant. Also, the music was okay, but did get annoying after awhile. 4 stars.
I must say I am quite impressed. This game follows the traditional aspects of the particle/sand genre, but has a lot more options than almost any other Sand game, which really opens up the gameplay. Graphics are so so, but for flixel they're done pretty well. 5 stars.
This game is awesome. Slight plagiarism on Tolkien (which detracts a little from its quality), but there are still original types of warriors. The gameplay is simple, but the upgrade and progression options make for enjoyable goals to reach for. The art is relatively well drawn and the movement of the characters is nicely animated. The difficulty was challenging, but enjoyably so. The only things that detract from this game are slightly generic background art, slow game progression and the plagiarism issue. 4 stars.
This was a fascinating game. It definitely succeeds at being an avant-garde game. The controls are simple enough to not distract from the gameplay, and the minimalist graphic style is simplistic but very well drawn. I also like the concept of piecing together an understanding of the game bit by bit. I was not a fan of the music, however, as to me, it sounded like airplanes landing over and over. I also wished there had been a little more color, even if it was pale or pastel and stuck in the more threatening range to go along with the games ominous tone. A few minor design issues, but on the whole, a good concept with good execution and style. 4 stars.
This is a decent game. It's not spectacular, but it has easy controls, an enjoyable goal (shooting aliens) and creative design on the enemies. It doesn't have any novelties that set it apart, and the graphics are rather uncreative, but as alien shooters go, its decent. 3 stars.
This game has a few things going for it and a few things working against it. The music is nice, and I like how it kind of contrasts with the urgency of the situation. The minimalist graphics are refreshing, not attempting to be amazing but sticking to a fair standard of quality. The control system is an interesting change, and I think this aspect both helps and hinders the game. On the one hand, its unusual, creative and challenges the player's timing and thinking. On the other hand, it can get tedious, it makes the levels too long and it can cause frustration having to restart every time the player makes a wrong jump. The game itself, as well, despite having an interesting premise, does not have very engaging gameplay. All in all, this game has a few flaws, but is simple and enjoyable. 3 stars.
In my opinion, this is what Doodle God should have been. It's aesthetically soothing, calm, far more logical than DG, and I like that your creations actually populate a world. It gives you a much more successful feeling of accomplishment, instead of just making you feel like you've invented another periodic table. DG was okay, but this is all it was minus the flaws.
Surprisingly, I'm impressed. Extremely simple, but this is a rare success at making a zen game. Most attempts at this genre end up being far too engaging to relax the player. Minimalist graphics are soothing, objective is simple and easy, and the music is very nice. A tad eerie, but in a good way. 5/5.
