You can't use items while in combat. You use the +spd/stunresist/poisonresist/etc before the start of the battle and you use the revive/hp/mp healing potions after battles.
the non sprite arts are cute and the sprites remind me of megaman. cool concept but I don't really like having to concentrate on the screen just so I won't miss a potion shop. I recommend having 2 additional modes, one mode where we get the option to choose to go forward and backward, making it a bit of a linear rpg. The other mode I suggest it being an Idle Mode like "A knight's story" where the character will be programmed to choose for itself if it wants to upgrade or buy potions. Oh btw, the tune is very catchy.
Freaking great game. Loved Freeway Fury and love the improvements. The only thing I dislike is changing the jumping method. I feel uncomfortable with the current one and I prefer tapping it like in Freeway Fury.
Try using a warrior+ranger+cleric+preferred character (I recommend conjuror for a back up revive, summons and its +15% def boost if you want to play defensive and barbarian with various buffs or mage with 40% def boost and magical aoe for aggressive playstyles). Buffs last the whole game so the buffs are highly recommended. Warrior's +team atk and Stun immunity buff and overwhelm, Ranger's speed and regen+poison immune buff, Cleric's Heals and 30% aoe blind+purify (not for poison but for removing curse) are highly recommended skills. Before finishing a wave, leave the weakest enemy alive so you can use use it to fully regen your characters by skipping turns.
@allo55: millions have completed level 10 at standard level. it's not an exaggeration. just browse a random page in the comments. @allen: when creating your characters, you need to click on the job icons below the job title to pick the job class. It's the sword, wand, cross, bow, etc thingies. The highlighted (colored red) is the current job. It's working fine so if it's not working for you there's something wrong with your computer.
I, too have been lured by the "Explosions. Screams. Carnage." I'm sorry but I can't really rate it any higher unless there's a sandbox mode that allows us to have as much crashes as we can while the trains just keep coming. Unlimited Explosions. Unlimited Screams. Unlimited Carnage.
Wizard isn't exactly restricted to males. It's sexless like the term magician. Sorcerer and sorceress are the ones that are sex-restricted. Also, the term witch isn't also restricted to females , Pop culture is to blame that when a witch is mentioned, people start thinking of women with robes and pointy hats and riding a broom.
Did you see that you can zoom the map out (mousewheel or minus key) then drag it around with the mouse? I know it's not the same as a minimap, but it's pretty good for seeing where you need to go next. Also, you can click anywhere in the map view and your group will walk there automatically.
Wow. These merchants don't hold back in trying to squeeze your wallet dry do they? Oh, and I think auto-cast toggle option in the skills is good which automatically uses the skill when there's enough rage. It will be handy when trying to kill 1 enemy asap.
