Like flames that smelt the item when mined, or lightning that makes your pick mine for 10 seconds manually. One last idea is that there should be a God Pick, you need to get 1000 of every type of metal and get you're black smith to me the God Pick. The God Pick can break everything instantaneously.
There needs to be a system where if the ore or mineral is able to be smelted down. Then you can make a pick out of it. Also picks should have a section for them-selves so then can have power-ups.
