day 142 hardcore... rogue with a revolver as my main char, 2 gravity guns and and automatic shotgun. The name of the game is money, you have to earn as much as possible to upgrade as fast as possible. Getting the Villa and throwing parties to increase damage is ESSENTIAL to pass the higher levels. Get it up to 10 and you do 100% more damage. When starting off, get your helpers as fast as possible, don't worry about the other stuff til later. Have fun!
The strategy I found works best is to upgrade the villa and throw parties every turn... you can get up to double damage which makes a HUGE difference after level 40.
