For those who are having issues with the game freezing, do you have selfish clerics in your party? If yes try removing them and then refreshing. My game stopped working when I added them and started working again when I removed them.
Biggest quality of life change for me would be having the clicks auto target the closest enemy to your heroes. It is very frustrating on a boss when you have 5 monsters on the screen and your clicks are attacking the back one when the front ones are eating your party.
This game is in alpha so I wont be too harsh. The cost of the starter kit is way too high, especially since you can only play in 15 min intervals. On that note either the removal of water is necessary or like others have said, allow your maximum to increase over time. Another option I would like to see is the ability to train your heroes to increase their level. I know you can redo the campaign missions but given the lack of water, another option would be nice. Also, we should not have to watch the "cut scenes" again if we redo a campaign mission.
In response to your response.
1) While you can attack in place while holding the shift key, it only works if you have a target selected. I was thinking more if you hold shift, you attack in the direction of the mouse regardless.
2) Good to hear. Hope it makes the web version.
3) I experience lag the most after about a hour of game play. Especially during combat (which makes sense). After about a hour or so of playing I notice my memory usage spikes.
Thanks for the extra info. Re: (3) We've made a lot of strides in flushing memory as you play, but you will see incremental increases over an extended play session. We'll continue to make inroads there, but in the meantime you should be able to overcome that issue by refreshing your page when you start to experience slowdown. =)
Couple changes that I think would make this game really solid. 1) Add the ability to hold a button down to attack in place. 2) Make skills auto cast when a monster is targeted. 3) Reduce the games lag (could just be me).
Thanks for the feedback, Maxxian! Some replies:
(1) If you hold the shift key while attacking, you should attack in place (note that you still need to be targeting an enemy to do this.
(2) That's actually something we're experimenting with for the tablet version of the game (coming soon!), so it may find its way to the web version as well. =)
(3) Lag is the bane of a web games existence. =) We're constantly working to improve overall performance. Can you give us some more details on what exactly you mean by "lag"? And which browser were you using?
Are we not allowed to purchase Epic powers in this game? All I get is "Cannot Afford"... even though I have the cash and the all the upgrades necessary to get it...
Anyone else think they should remove the prerequisites for higher level items and just increase the cost and the time needed to manufacture? This whole create X to make Y (and in some cases to make Z...damn scrolls) is really getting old now that I have to make....96 of them!
@funiax: Its Dungeons and Dragons rule based. 2d4 means you have 2 four sided dice (the 'd' is for dice). This means to calculate base damage the computer generates 2 numbers between 1 and 4 and adds them together. Same thing as 1d10...its a 10 sided di.
Selfish Clerics were so selfish they broke the game. Fixed this.
