This was a blast to the past, but I really don't think I can play this game ever again. While it's one of the first (and potentially only) game(s) to utilize your Kongpanions, it doesn't supplement for the fact that the game feels fairly repetitive. Ramming into a balloon while thrusting is like slamming your DeLorean at 88 mph into a brick wall. The aspect ratio of the game makes it behave extremely choppily and weirdly if you try and edit the tiny bacterial ectoplasm you are supplied with, which is a shame because jmbt02's art is really charming and cartoony. The game doesn't do anything to occupy your time (other than make you pray for the love of ____ that you don't slam into a balloon) while launching. Maybe a minigame to make you go faster/go further would've been nice, take Burrito Bison as an example, albeit an example used after this game's release, or even more items other than springs and balloons. Finally, I wish EXP was used for something rather than for achievements sake.
This was a pretty fun game and I really love how each danger was introduced without instructions. But I kind of wish the orange triangles didn't rely on RNG when they aimed as it was hard to approach them, especially when you were bigger. As an alternative, the orange triangle could fire one large beam that persists on the screen for a few seconds rather than firing off small beams randomly. Overall, it was still a fun game to play and it was fun to dodge the hazards.
Thanks. Glad you noticed our design choice of introduction danger without instructions!.
Yeah the orange triangles were a bit of a tough one to design. Will see what we can do for future games
I found a glitch, if you fall down a pit near a staircase going down, you can't die and you'll be playing invisible, you can also view otside the walls.
Tips for beating this game, 1: Use light soldiers. 2: Use light soldiers. 3: USE LIGHT SOLDIERS! (By the way, I actually tried this and beat most of the game easily.)
Ahhh, the Games of Runouw are Masterpieces. With cut-scenes, action packed levels and secrets. There are even more things to do after you defeated the final boss...
