The game literally messes with you by telling you on mission 3 or 4 zombies scale with your shotgun. Instead of letting the player have fun it punishes you and there's no benefit to upgrade when it makes everything artificially tanky. For best enjoyment in short engagements don't level up and reset your progress to play only the first couple missions on repeat. 3/10
The game is currently unplayable for me. I have men stuck on the screen even on the menu restarting is a temp fix and after the first mission I'm given automatic victories for the whole mission when entering battle. I'm sad I can not play this game. Early animation although rough was nice and the brief voice acting before each mission is cool. If I really wanted to play as is. The game would speed run me to the credits of which isn't the way its meant to be experienced or any game actually.
Still simple and fun like I remembered it as a kid back then. It gives me my Ogre Battle 64 Prince of Lordly Caliber fix. Easy to pick up and finish multiple rounds.
New to the game. As of 2025 this game is missing a lot features like the campaign and its only just barely playable in skirmish. It only freezes when you win or when your main dude gets diced. As is its a quick rough charming simple medieval turn based game.
Great game, I look forward for the next one. The levels that are suppose to be unlimited are false advertisement. But I had a laugh at it while I farmed some exp from the pot holes. The Assault/Bayonet combo are in my opinion the go to weapon for this game. I rarely used the sniper except for those camping buggers across the map. I only lost 3 of my marines in the game; one from the mortar bugs and the other 2 from platforms.. This game is easy but highly enjoyable. I give it a cat, plus two bananas, and ice cream.
I remember as a kid when the internet wasn't adept as today's. Played the original epic war games on a crappy computer. I didn't had to worry about downloads and transactions. Nostalgic times they were.
Has a few cons here and there like not having a scroll option. However I really enjoyed this game. Also can I get links to the rave music? The rave music is rad man!
I use to play this as a kid. Nostalgic the times I played it. Simple and easy this game is. Counter the enemy teams soldiers. Great game! I would love to play the second one if it ever comes out. Until then I will be playing on Xbox and reading Overlord.
Here are my thoughts on the game after beating it. Yeah I beat the game somewhere around 1 to 2 hours on hard. At first I had a rough time in the beginning. I was dying a lot and had very resources to use at the time. Then I discovered after many failures I realized my research points were not taken away for failing the mission. (Is it a bug)? I continued to fail on purpose and use it for my own gain. I research the highest tier defense the artillery cannon first and the flak cannon 2nd. I only bought everything at the 7th level. The laser and the flame thrower feel under powered with there upgrades. Damage over time boosts would be nice. The top three turrets I think are the best are the artillery, flak cannon and waste spewer. Overall this game is fun for a small defense game. 6/10 I approve this message.
