COMMENT PT 2 The main character fit the bill quite well, and the tour guide seemed quite real, so those somewhat balanced out Anabel... but her involvement completely destroyed any semblance of mood the game was trying to create up to you finding her again. Finally, the humor belongs in developer comments, do NOT inject it into gameplay as it too ruins the tense atmosphere generated by the setting and audio. You can't have one-liners in a semi-apocalyptic scenario without high-caliber weaponry, it just doesn't work. TL;DR, it has great potential, but a few minor design slip-ups hit it hard. 3/5
COMMENT PT1 Quite good and well thought out. This game has the potential to be an incredibly good introduction to the crowded-with-crap genre of flash-based survival horror games. Its downfalls, however, lie in a lack of depth, its overall length (however, the overall quality of the game has led me to judge it using my retail scale) and - the biggest issue - Anabel. Her voice is actually physically painful, and her mannerisms seem completely out of context with what is going on around her. I don't care how "badass" you are trying to make her seem, You see (well... hear) everyone who was around you get eaten alive by god-knows-what and you drop your ditzy bimbo attitude real fast.
@Slade: You need to have the jumping shell from the dark abyss. There is a pedestal to the right to put it on, it's kinda hard to see. Just spam the interact button and it'll work.
The attack system needs a bit of an overhaul. If three enemies are on top of one another, the only way to kill them is to die and use the temporary invulnerability that comes afterwards to kill them. Also, the random attack thing (not the random damage, the random attack), although interesting, ruins a large portion of the game; especially when you get technical moves like ones that block and attack simultaneously. There are a LOT of keys on a keyboard and we aren't simpletons. We can use a more complex attack system.
Wow, using the fish thing as a preloader was a great idea. Great game. One question though, once you get the claws of power, how do you escape the rat's nest?
Oh crap. Hey guys, after you unlock the minigame and kill the dummy greg, you can glitch your game by trying to go back to the chatrooms without searching his body. I learned this the hard way. Restarting...
This game should have a check against the number of quests versus the number of events. As of this comment, there are two obviously hacked people in the top scores list.
That aside, this is probably the best do nothing game on the site, good work.
That was an excellent game, with a surprisingly interesting story for a shooter. Reminds me of the storylines in the couple Ace Combat games I've played. Except for the humor of course.
