Really well done. Please separate the muting of the background music and sound effects from each other. The background music gets grating after a while, but the sound effects are useful feedback.
Came for the unexpected title on the New Games list; stayed for the subversive description; rated highly for the creepy music and sheer craziness of the game. Now I'll just sit back and wait for the international incident to start. ;)
I like it a lot -- gameplay and aesthetics. But if the pointer is going to stay a pen all the time, then I should at least be able to draw mustaches on the characters in the cutscenes ;)
Well, it worked for a little while (completed tutorial and level one), but now it's broken: Can't drag new parts into the play area, but can move or delete what's already there (i.e. the incomplete triangle that shows up in level 2). This is Flash 9,0,124,0 in either Firefox 3.0.1 or Safari 3.1.2, both on OS X 10.5.4
That's a lot of fun. 9th track was really hard for me, but the 10th not so bad.
Like a lot of other commenters, I'd like to see a mini-map of some kind -- with only two laps, it's tough to figure out where you are at some point.
A solo time-trial lap for each track to determine starting position might be interesting too.
I usually like this kind of thing and this one has potential but it has some issues...
1) Desperately needs a pause function
2) The angle of the bow shown on screen regardless of whether or not your tower is visible, or maybe the trajectory of arrows could be shown
3) Hotkey letters/numbers should be visible at all times instead of just when you mouse over the unit button. A small overlay on the unit button would do it.
4) The experience system appears to reward making the battle longer than it needs to be.
And one minor nit-picking issue... Golems? Not Middle Earth. Not unless Gandalf is actually the Rabbi of Prague ;)
Awesome. What is it about vector graphics that instantly makes a game appealing?
Thinking of the classic Atari vector products (Tempest, Major Havoc, Star Wars) and modern pseudo-vector flash games like this one or Vector TD. The gameplay is very different in each of these, yet they're all loads of fun.
When I saw Vector TD on the new games list, I was pleased for a second. It's a shame it turned out to be a stolen copy. Oh, to the person posing as "CandyStand:" it's a good idea to proofread your description before you submit.
Glad to see ezone is still getting some mileage out of the Lenny Loosejocks character. I still laugh at "Pullyapantsup" all these years later. Cracks me up every time.
A couple of questions... 1) Is it normal to only be allowed to buy one item at the store? I've been there twice in this game and both times all items for sale disappear after I select one. 2) Before I use some orbs I've collected, is it possible for an item to have several enchantments? Is there a limit?
Enjoying it so far, in spite of the lag on movement and on other click events. I've found though that leaving "advanced pathfinding" on is in effect faster than turning it off, contrary to garin's advice: it allows you to move with fewer clicks and so there are fewer incidents of lag -- especially if you backtrack a lot when you play.
Lots of fun. Unfortunately, even with sound & music off, quality low and chat muted, levels 12, 14 and one of the bonus levels (can't remember which) went out of sync several times before I could finish them. Frustrating, because I had already figured out the solutions! 5/5 for the game. Wish I had a better machine to play it on. I guess I'll come back for the rest of the levels after an upgrade.
