As a first time player, the tutorial tells me I can bounce by letting go of down. This confused me to no end until I played a few times (during so, encountered mushrooms and their properties). Being confused and not being able to few the tutorial again, I went to another website and realized that when teaching you to "bounce" it has you over a mushroom, which is why the bouncing works.
