SO, having nearly finished the available content (that last boss is a bit of a pain) I have some suggestions.
The first of which is - if you don't have enough dev resources for at least a bare bones story, don't release the game until you do. Game badly needs at least *some* story.
Secondly, explain what all the numbers do. How does improving attack help me? What does rate do, exactly? What's the difference between leader 1 and leader 2?
Thirdly, the game is reasonably fun but pretty grindy. Not sure how to fix that problem, of course, but...it sure is grindy.
Fourth, for the love of god have some easy way to convert garbage into money or not garbage. So many clicks!
1) There are a lot of ads (2) sometimes the ads don't play and the close button is greyed out. Basically an OK if slightly pointless game rendered periodically unplayable by ads.
Hey MrVerbal, thanks for the feedback. But in-game ads are disabled on Kongregate. This is Kongregate's policy. Perhaps you are talking about the mobile version of the game?
right now I would rate this game as incredibly unfun. The rate of progression is absurdly slow - I've played 10-15 times and have one upgrade and each launch lasts ~20 seconds. Oh, and I have no feeling anything I do makes a difference.
I'm not sure how you've so soundly broken the model you had for BB previously, but this game right now is a trainwreck and you need to severely update it.
this game was a medium amount of fun, but it feels like (because it very nearly is) the same game reskinned 3 times. It needs some additional pep; maybe a final set of levels where you can pick 1 of the three at level start, or switch during the level, and more upgrades are available. Otherwise it's basically irrelevant that they are three (slightly) different characters.
This game has a lot of positives, and a number of fairly egregious design choices.
Don't take half my dudes off me (repeatedly) when I may have spent time and energy investing in them
If you're going to have a pile of choices, make them meaningful within the game
the digging mechanic seems almost identical to giving additonal random treasures; why not do that?
The end boss is both super annoying (Really, you randomly free-kill my minions?) and trivial to beat. Not the best of combinations.
All in all, some good ideas, but not as well executed as perhaps I would like. 3/5
It's pretty annoying not knowing which spikes are light-resistant. Level 12 is just an example of bad level design, as it isn't a puzzle so much as a guessing game//deathtrap
So it turns out that Zombies are really good VS cats - every time you take a life from them, it spawns a zombie (if you have the right upgrade, of course!)
weird error; I reached the end of the bridge, got a score...then my truck exploded off screen, landed on its back with the wheels fallen off on screen, and I couldn't end the level until the nuke went off.
the spikes are still too hard to see. None of the puzzles require much thinking - just precise timing. Working out what to do with the ring-item is just kind of annoying (why doesn't regular jumping break things, just bad guy jumping?)
Lots of fun, BUT!
1) gunships are crazy overpowered against any enemy not building rocket turrets. Turrets themselves are also pretty powerful.
2) Given it can be difficult to direct your little chaps, it would be nice if a completely encircled coloured square switch sides to prevent annoying outposts you can't seem to remove
3) The tips about what unit is good vs what are interesting-if-true, but need to show up when you are in the unit buying screen!
Also, MY GOD the minigun is too noisy. Just a wall of aural mud. Also also, paying to upgrade new ships so I can use their base function sucks - perhaps the first time I get a three-slot or four-slot ship, but surely it is built into the cost of the thing? A hundred K is hard to come by; a hundred K for a ship which is roughly as good as the second or third ship (as 150 HP is roughly infinite) is an insult.
Too much grinding??? Try 'almost no grinding unless I am a complete muppet'. Hell, I'd be surprised if you couldn't finish this game without spending a cent - if you had a couple of spare hours for the final boss. Indeed, I'd like slightly more grinding required/more levels, just so I have an excuse to save up for the minigun.
Good game; too little money/too short/stuff is too expensive. Also the boss fights are pathetically easy - I did the last one on the first attempt without getting hit. And I suck at boss fights in these sort of games.
Wow, so not only is this game god-awfully boring, but the badge seems to be bugged. That's too of these buildings I've perfected and still fourteen idiot blobs off the badge (was fourteen, then fourteen, now fourteen...
