What a nice little point&click game and 4(?) more episodes to come - sweet. Nice artwork, decent unannoying background music and logical riddles - if every upcoming chapter will become more difficult - it'd be a 5/5 as a whole! :)
Probably the best beat 'em up side scroller there is available as a flash game. Good controls, nice graphics, entertaining and short levels - great arcade-alike game. We shouldn't forget - back in the days there weren't many moves at all and it still didn't destroy the enjoyment of kicking the bad guys butts and finish the game :)
Despite all the positive comments about something magic and artsy ONCE AGAIN: it's got not enough qualities that make it a good platformer, it's got cute but very indifferent artwork and it's too short. The advances of such a game are that you have few minutes of tranquility which enlighten your day if you're playing in the office or might make you forget your fighting children or shouting wife (probably not). Nevertheless it's got very nice music: good job, Kevin! it's not enough though to make it a good game in any aspect: so it's a 3, becoz of a nice rhythmic idea, otherwise it'd be a 2. Next time make it a little more challenging so it won't row itself in a long row of averaged platformer :)
This is some nice effort to combine the best music ever done for a x68000 CPU system. SNES had a better chips inside, but nothing beat the classic soundtracks of SEGA games (Yu Suzuki - you're my hero!). So I think it's a beautiful idea to sum best of 'em together for this nice little quiz of nostalghia and heartwarmth :)
Even regarding all the artistic ambiente and some "in-between-the-lines" philosophy it is a much too short Flash experience that is an averaged plattformer. I still give a 3, and to those saying "I don't get it, here is a 1 from me": it is as pointless as to say "I dont get the controls I give it a 1".
Why the heck are people complaining here about the controls? There are dozens and hundreds of games on KONG which have the 8-Axes physics. Compared to them Kaban steeplechase is more exact then a swiss clock :)
Nice Game, great atmosphere!
ALL programmers are sadists anyway - we all knew that... But it reminded me of the old times when you paid 60 bucks for an 8-Bit game and it kept pissing you off like hell for days.... It was worth the money though :)
