Great idea, somewhat poor execution. Level 10 killed it for me. I know what I need to do in terms of mechanics, but it's unintuitive on that level and frequently gets me killed when the slime reverses direction for no apparent reason as I'm descending.
The M1 Carbine is ridiculous in the hands of good soldiers. So many rounds, such good rate of fire, and reliable accuracy. Definitely worth the -2 TP to upgrade.
Tip: before giving orders to move your men at the start of a new game, pause. Then give the orders, and then unpause. That way, you don't lose any time between giving soldiers orders.
Wonderful little game, 5/5. To anyone who can't get the save your owner ending to work, you have to keep pawing at the phone (which is supposedly you dialing 911).
Can't begin to emphasize just how incredibly important defense is early on. If you consistently level this skill, you will eventually receive 0 damage from certain enemies at the lower level dungeons, allowing you to farm them for more gold and xp, which is extremely helpful.
I have a suggestion to improve the balance of stamina and HP management. If any of you agree, please upvote this so the developer sees and hopefully implements this feature.
My main concern is that there is a point of no return: that if you go a certain distance and are loaded up on berries/potions, there's a point at which you simply won't be able to make it back to the base and will die due to exhaustion.
I suggest adding a "rest stop" feature that allows your character to rest:
1) Only 3 can be set up on entire map
2) Costs meat to rest (say, 3-5)
3) Regenerates entire stamina
4) When destroyed, does not return to inventory (to prevent exploits)
Of course, players would still need to return above-ground from time to time to replenish their food supplies.
I've considered adding tents and items that would do basically this, but I do worry that it would completely remove the need for food/management. Maybe something more like a storehouse underground, where you don't get a full recovery, but you can store food for emergencies later?
Great game, but unfortunately, as others have noted, it's quite laggy to the point of not being playable. Are you sure there's no memory leak or anything for the game? Because I'm looking at my Task Manager, and Chrome's memory usage is steadily going up without me doing anything.
Well, it's weird... I'm really thinking it could be due to recent bashing on Flash player from the different browser, 'cause we didn't have those issues initially. I spent a lot of time tracking down memory leak when the game got released :p Sorry for the troubles anyway.
