Merlinus, there are 13,000+ games on Kong. Do you think there are ANY games that DON'T have at least a half a dozen like them? Keep makin' TD games, I enjoy em. ;)
P.S. Not a flame - I agree with your overall sentiment. I'm just not sure this is an effective avenue to get taken seriously. And in the end, you need thick skin to deal with some folks wandering around the web. ;)
I was ready to put this down as overly sensitve drivel until the Karaoke. :) Seriously though, putting something up for public consumption is always going to be subject to often unfair scrutiny. If I could wave a magic wand and make internet trolls all nicey-nice I would, but until then you gotta expect some amount of B.S. from the anonymous.
Very good game. It gets a bit harder as the game goes on but still has an inuitive flow - once you get the hang of things. The music definitely fits well. 5/5
Finally got it. My biggest obstacle? I had some aversion to using spikes. I thought it would be inefficeint cost-wise but it's a must to keep your lives 40+ I used a slight variant on the cannon/ tack strat with a lonely monkey. :) Bumping it up to 4/5
I puttered a while and found the only effective strat is placing and removing obstacles in your maze to force creeps back and forth over your towers. I think it's neat to have a TD game that requires so much 'twitch' to pull off but it's not really my style. I still rate it 4/5 because it is a good game - but I don't have the attention span required ( playing from work ) to continue trying for the badges. Well done though, and I'm sure it's exactly what some players want.
Finally got around to finishing this one. Fantastic game! 5/5 - not sure how anyone who's a fan of the genre and plays a few boards could vote any lower. Sequel please! ;)
Nice game. I really wish there were prompts to begin each wave. Maybe this was part of the design to force decisions on the go, but it makes playing from work a pain. 8-)
Oh btw, when you reach wave 40 on survival mode, quiting out for a party defeat doesn't register the badge. :) I guess you have to die heh. Oh well, once more into the breach dear friend! 8)
I thought I was bored with the game after getting the spelunking badge, but then I started messing with survival mode. The fun has returned. Btw, this is the game that brought me to Kong - and it remains one of the best. 5/5
Good game, looks like some work involved in putting it together. I will say that using one hit kills is a lazy way to implement challenge though. All in all, nice work 4/5.
I'd like to retract that for the most part. You certanily don't have a lot of time to get your feet under you but it's not too bad once you find the right strategy. When you do, it doesn't seem any harder than other TD games. Sorry for judging too quickly.
If you like TD games, and you've played almost every other one, then this one is for you. Frustrating initial difficulty - the HP's of the first waves are beyond what you can buy with the meager resources.
