To deal with ninjas, set up one or two towers near their spawn point to get them to pop their smoke early and build all the rest of your defenses close to the gems. Assassin(miss chance guys): Build a lot of towers. Anytime you don't have towers to upgrade and you have enough cash to build a tower, do it. You should never have more than 200 gold unless you're saving for an upgrade. Upgrade b4 building a new tower.
Tier 1 is the best. Tier 5 is average.
I don't see why people are complaining about balance. First few weeks I took my character into the first 2 dungeons and beat them with no training before hand. Even afterwards there were never any balance problems. The only trouble i had is on the highest dungeons I HAD to use potions, but it's made to be that way. If you don't build your hero to fight, he won't fight well. It's like taking Shakespeare, a hero of LITERATURE, and telling him to go be a hero in WW2. It's totally insane.
@BenderIsGreat cool isn't going to help that much because it helps recovery speed but you fire so fast with a rapid bowgun it won't matter. Level accuracy and completely ignore cool. @Karadan This is caused because those opponents move so fast. If it really bothers you too much, try using the laptop difficulty mod.
@JareX Thats because when you started your new character, you didnt switch save files from the title screen. Look at the top right of the title screen. Make you always switch to an empty save before you start a new character if you want to save old ones.
If you beat Ragnarok about level 12 which isnt hard you can level more than 6 :p @Ericbloedow I would say that's only right for hardcore. On casual or normal, this game is pretty easy. Hardcore is all about luck.
@dbbb There are many tactics that'll work, but in the end it's luck. Thats why the badge is called the random number distentegrator badge. It's random. If you get good weapons and good mods, you win. If you don't you lose.
@termntr only the last mod is removed, so in a 4 slotted weapon you can have 3 mods you want to keep and 1 bad one in the last slot that will be deleted in reforging.
I've always thought the problem with the bowgun hitting barbarians and suicide bombers was their speed. I don't think the game is calculating position of the arrow shot and position of enemy fast enough. I've noticed that if I play with the laptop difficulty mod on, I very very rarely have this problem compared to not having laptop difficulty on.
Elonian award: survive till day 41. by first round of enemies, it means first round of enemy difficulty. at day 41, the enemies reset, but with more hp. So day 41 is sheeps, rats, and chickens. This happens every 40 levels
put a grenade launcher on your big gun user while waiting for gravity gun. GL will work nicely, but GG is better. GG's are rare, but you'll get one eventually
dont use it yet. wait till you have 2 grails of jure and good dmg. try around day 10-20. It'll summon tons of dragons. Theyre tough, but give you TONS of exp
