On the save issue: Using Chrome, performing a manual save before refreshing the page lost my save data. Second time, did not manual save before refreshing, and save data was intact. Might be worth looking at the manual save function.
The Dark Ritual system definitely needs an explanation. Even after I successfully guessed a pattern, it didn't seem like anything changed. Still only a bunch of "?". I also still have no idea what the fragments are used for. I only guess that they'll be used to upgrade the "?" once I get them. Also, maybe better hints. Even with the fragment names, it's still a matter of guessing the specific shape.
Later in the game, the 20-25 gem reward for daily tasks becomes rather insignificant. It also becomes extremely easy to perform these tasks, but perhaps there could be a series of upgrades to scale the daily tasks to stay relevant later in the game? It's a nice feature that teaches new players what to focus on, but feels superfluous to veterans.
Do you guys have a feedback option? Kongregate comments limit you to 1000 characters, or 2000 in a profile shout. That sounds like a lot, but eliminates long-form feedback. It's hard to talk about player experience and engagement using short-form.
I think the black brick tip is a little too easy to miss. I didn't know how the black bricks worked until my second playthrough because I missed it the first time. Somewhere where you can check that kind of information again would be helpful.
Tip: Dodge doesn't work against ranged attacks. If this is your only defense, ranged attacks will destroy you. There are dodge skills that avoid ranged, but these aren't enough if there are multiple ranged users.
All that time playing Dungeon Dice Monsters on the GBA finally paid off! This game is flawless - a modicum of challenge, easy to learn, an elegantly simple design. You could have a classic puzzle here - the kind you find in newspapers every week. Listen to the comments for improvement: more levels and a colourblind option being good suggestions.
Even if I set the Flash quality to low, this game still lags like hell. Every other game on Kong works fine. I managed with it until the mid twenties, but the timing needs to be way too precise for lag - I'm done. You made a great game here, worth 4-5 stars, but you need to consider performance.
I think this game is a true gem out here on the internet. Through the provoking ideas I was forced to consider I became invested in the my progress through the game as something more than a matter of beating it, but as a matter of improving my real self. This in turn made feel a strong connection to Socrates and his story, and I was able to enjoy it that much more above the excellent presentation. 5/5
@rench00: To perform a sneaky start, you must step on the gas (figuratively) as soon as the bar on the action-thingy rises. It gives you a small amount of boost right from the start.
As soon as I opened the chest cavity, my entire arm spontaneously went numb. I immediately realized that my first one-handed surgery was in jeopardy, so I promptly gouged out every salvageable organ with my hammer and stuffed them in the box in case the next patient needed them. In a last-ditch effort to complete the transplant, I grabbed his heart with my bare hand and violently tried to rip it out to make room, but the thing was stuck as hard as concrete... and then they brought in the next guy...
