I don't hand out 5/5 ratings. But I just did. Just challenging enough to be entertaining, but not pull-your-hair-out ridiculously hard, so all in all a good idea well realized. Good job, kChamp!
I was wondering when this would show up here! This is fantastic, but very challenging. To win as the Vikings takes a good deal of know-how and a whole lot of luck. The reason why it isn't longer is that it is meant to focus upon one moment in history: The events surrounding the last Norse incursion into England, and the Norman invasion which followed later that year. As one who has studied this era extensively from a military perspective, I feel that it represents the warfare of the period fairly well. Archery is not terribly effective, and unit morale is shaky and prone to break unless the unit is in a shieldwall. Realistic, unlike many wargames these days.
This could use some work. Considering that the only threat to the player is the shots at the end, the game itself is too easy. The armies clashing at the beginning of the battle is a nice touch, but it doesn't seem to have any relevance to what the player must do when it ends. This has potential, I just don't feel that it was very well realized.
On the positive side, you have some good suggestions from those who commented before me. Well, some of them, anyway. Take them to heart, and make Conqueror 3 a winner.
Fun, but could use a bit of polish. You want a real challenge? Try crawling over every inch of terrain-no jumps! Three or four levels in you'll be throwing things.
And please, to the makers of physics-based racing games--no more life limits!
This one is a challenge, but think like rally racing: tap the brakes before each jump to throw your center of gravity forward. It helps to keep the cargo in the truck if you point slightly nose down in the air. At least it seems to me. I like this one. 4/5
This is a breath of fresh air from some of the needless complication of other games like this. Lots of replay value, if you're into this sort of thing, which I am. This takes me back to my days of playing Dungeons And Dragons - 1st edition, mind you. Very nicely done, indeed, CuriousGaming! 5/5
