The slow but steady progression is great, I only got stuck a bit at the last level before clearing the game - your exp rises really slowly by then, so it's not really a question of grinding until you manage to defeat it. I did it by changing around my skills a little bit.
Perfect length if you want to relax for an hour or two. Not too difficult, and the level ups are frequent enough that you feel a sense of progression without getting bored. Looking forward to part 2!
Going to stop with 6366 population, 1006 happiness and 4315 coins (day 147). A tip to people starting out: definitely prioritize happiness over population, if you have enough happiness (>100 at the beginning) then your population will increase every night, and it doesn't matter if you let the treasure chest eat a few of them in exchang for gold every now and then ;)
I tried to tie up all loose ends, hoped I caught them all! I have unlocked the following events: (SPOILER ALERT)
- Dragon slain
- Curse lifted from treasure chest
- Got the coin-generating machine
- Got LAPIN
- Held my first Council of Crowns meeting
I've reloaded the game twice, but for some reason there is nothing clickable after I open the vent cover in the 3rd screen. I've followed the walkthrough but still nothing. Might be a bug.
Beautiful game with good sound effects. I had a lot of trouble with the disc puzzle - after trying for around an hour, I consulted the walkthrough and learned that you are NOT supposed to arrange them in the colours of the rainbow. Also, I found a possible bug that lets you skip the puzzle entirely. When the stand with seed sacks is lowered, click on the eye icon and you will see a clickable spot in the upper left of of the stand. Click that, and then go back and right click the exposed colour wheel, choose the 3rd option, and you skip the puzzle entirely. This was done in Firefox, I hope it also works for others who are stuck.
Some small flaws mentioned in the comments already, but otherwise a very fun game :) I really like the graphics too, and though the bad grammar may not be intentional, I found it quite charming and adds to the humour.
Nice game, but I hate how the game forces your squad to move (WHILE NOT INVINCIBLE) to the upper left while launching a skill. It often causes me to bump into a horde of enemies coming from the upper left, and then I die.
Not sure if I haven't got far enough in the game to unlock this feature, but some kind of graphical representation of our bustling colony would be awesome! For example, you could start out with a barren stretch of land with a few huts, then add more people and different buildings as we progress. I realize that would mean a lot of extra work, but if you ever make a sequel, please keep my suggestion in mind :)
That is not yet in, the graphical representation I mean, but I have it planned. It's just that it is like you said, a lot of work, so it'll happen gradually. I have to split my time between drawing and coding and that takes a while, heh :)
I've always had a weakness for miniscule yet realistic things, and this game fulfilled my love for that completely. The gameplay is fun as well. Would have loved a full screen mode, and more "cages'!!
I really love how this game is just tailored to be 100% FUN rather than getting dragged down with tedious features that serve no purpose other than to increase difficulty. The multiple scanning, healing while waiting, ability to save anywhere, switching with backup anytime, and being able to change equipment mid-battle are just a few I can think of. Thank you Kupo, for making one one of the best games I've played in a long time.
Is there a big? When I enable "auto fire" and then click on the screen after the level starts, my player goes to the upper right corner of the screen and I can't get him back down until he dies... :(
Thank you so much! We hope you'll like the second episode as well, then! :D
