Suggestions for the Dev: A forcefield would be nice, even if it only absorbs one hit. It's so frustrating to lose my 'perfect' for a level because one thing slipped past. Also, a way to penetrate enemy forcefields, for the same reason.
Suggestions for players: Don't by health or regen. There's no need. The point is to not get touched, so just beef up your weapons and speed to get the perfect ratings.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for not penalizing me for losing to the king. It makes it fun, instead of frustrating. I can keep throwing new combinations at him, getting the +5 battle points he awards me for trying, leveling up my units, and eventually winning. With an 'S' rating. In case you were wondering: All uniques, Knight, Crusader, Mage, Cleric.
Well, I can't beat the boss because every time I use a Phoenix Feather, the game freezes. Otherwise it would have been good. Glitchy, glitchy.. Also, if you use experience gaining in-training items, use them on the intelligence game, you'll get double the bonus.
So really, you should play about 15 times, get all the achievements, and then reset upgrades to nothing except speed and suicide 10 times to get the Frequent Flyer Miles. Also, the Mother Goose and Gold Eggs and Gold achievements are easiest to achieve very early on before fighters and choppers start appearing.
You. Have. GOT. To be kidding me. The last pirate, the literal, exact, LAST pirate on the 101 finished me off. I had 2500 gold but nothing to do with it.
Somewhere around Wave 80, the First mate says: "Captain, not a single one of our men has made it to the end of this maze of deathtraps, and it keeps growing longer because our men carry gold on them for some reason, and the trapmaker uses their money to build more traps. Should we give up, or at least stop having our men carry gold?"
Captain: "Nah, we'll be fine."
Once you unlock Big Bertha for the Dwarven Cannon, put all your points into the Cannon and the Reinforcements, with the leftovers going into Meteor Shower. You don't need anything else, though be sure to use Tesla Coil when you unlock it.
General comment: Excellent game, once you get a feel for it. 4.5/5
To the developers: 1) Spellcheck is your friend. So is someone to fact-check your item names. Bronze Leather Armor? Really? 2) Give me something to do with my gold. It becomes useless once I have a strong army.
To my fellow players: Start as the forest nation, take over the island with two cities on it, make your army completely out of Great Heroes, and max out Patriotism and Art of War. I conquered all three other nations without losing a single unit.
Please rate up so this can be seen.
The only reason I'm not rating this game 5/5 is because the weapons' appearances do not change from level 5 into levels 6-10. Much of my enjoyment came from watching my weapons look progressively more awesome. I was disappointed that I didn't get to have more of that in Paradox mode. Still, excellent game. 4/5
I love the Creeper World games, and this one is no exception. The 2-D side view as opposed to the top view of older games was disorienting at first, but I quickly got over it. 5/5
Five men with machine guns pumping lead into a floating coinbox, which is in return showering them with a blinding, screen-filling downpour of black, gold, and silver coins, all so I can buy a tactical nuke. 5/5
