A well constructed, entertaining game with hilarious dialogue and responsive developer listening to changes? Pinch me, I'm dreaming! For the record, once I came down to the comments and saw how much you were participating, I added a whole other star to my rating and shared it on FB, since I really appreciate that kind of effort. Awesome game, guys, I love it. This bard dude is very funny, too, and I've enjoyed the story a whole lot. I do have one suggestion, since you're so willing to listen:
In survival mode it would be nice to be able to adjust your decisions more. For instance if I buy a unit, and then decide that I don't want it, It would be great if I could put it back, rather than having to reload the game to start over. Same with unit levels, I'd like to be able to tinker with them a bit more before I make a final decision. Maybe an up/down switch rather than just the one upgrade button? Don't worry if you can't respond, I won't take any offense.
I mostly like this, but I have a hard time telling the difference between the color of the two rightmost cake pieces, they should be easily differentiated, I think.
Not bad, but not great. I liked the environments, but I wish the help button didn't disappear toward the end of your time and I really think there should have been more levels.
After you beat a level where you have a random starting point, (like level three) it would be really cool if, for subsequent play throughs, you could choose your start point.
This is the kind of game where you ragequit every 10 minutes or so, and then come back five minutes later going "Well, maybe if I do it this way..." and then that fails, and you ragequit again, completing the cycle.
Somedays, it's just time for a dungeon crawl, no muss no fuss, just smash monsters, get treasure. I found this game well executed on almost every front (dragging the magic over enemies was a bit clunky and annoying, but other than that the controls were perfect.), and while it was a bit short for my taste, it was absoulutely enjoyable. 5/5, I hope to see more (Perhaps a sequel with 500+ floors?)
I have to admit, at first I HATED this game. I didn't like not being able to just put my towers any old place I wanted, and the difficulty curve seemed really messed up at first. Now... this is the third or fourth time I've deleted my save and started over. This game pisses me off constantly, and has been responsible for some serious mouse throwing... But, I keep coming back for more, so I guess you're doing something right.
I really wanted to give this a 5, but... for now it only has a 3. The concept is great, the visuals are lovely and there are a lot of fun things here, but the achievement registering is glitchy, and given that this is the entire point of the game, I really can't rate it higher. How do I get the badge for all of the safespots, but I'm still missing the one for F? The first time I went into the dressing room, none of the change buttons worked, and the save function is a little hit and miss; some times I light torches and when I save and come back, they're out again. I've had to re-get some achievements and I'm pretty sure I was awarded a few I didn't actually do. Put out an update that fixes the glitches and you have a guaranteed 5 from me, but until then...
I'm in the hamster room, and I keep getting this thing on the screen: "Not set data 0:00:00" and "400/400 achievements done!" even though I haven't done all of them, even remotely. Did I break it?
I liked the concept and the creature art a lot, but a few things kinda bugged me. It feels like most of this game is waiting for my monsters to rest and travelling, which isn't fun. The ranch filling up so fast before costing cash for more monsters was where I gave up. I can understand paying for room for additional monsters, you guys have bills to pay, I get that. But, combined with all of the other irksome bits, the ranch thing was a deal breaker. Heck, even if I had known from the outset exactly how much room my ranch had, it might have been OK, but if that's there, I don't see it. IMHO, there should be an obvious counter at the top of the ranch screen saying how many more monsters you can have. Now I have a bunch of monsters from the beginning that I have put time into training, and I don't want to get rid of any to make room. This is an interesting game, but all of these restrictions started to pile up. Sorry guys, I'm probably not coming back.
I thought it was an interesting concept, with nice music and good execution. Originally, I gave it four stars, but then I saw "never knows best" in the level with the car and train tracks... Five stars.
What can I say? I'm easily amused.
For about twenty minutes I was solidly amused. Yeah, it was a bit short, but I'd rather be really entertained for twenty minutes than mildly entertained for three hours. Good game!
