I like turn-based tactical games, especially with rpg elements, and this would really hit the spot... except that it can be quite difficult at times and the game tends to crash on my newer computer. Also, it seems as though the series was left unfinished...
Yeah, that reload mechanic just kills the game for me. If I want to keep my guys alive, I have to make sure that I click to reload them (and you can't always tell who needs it either), but if I do it too fast, I end up upgrading the unit, wasting money that I was saving up for something else... too bad, could've been a nice game.
I played this for the BOTD... and I loved it! The music really adds a lot to the game, which is itself very cute, nicely paced, and just enjoyable. Thanks for the game, and thanks for giving a badge to a game that I otherwise might not have played!
I would say that close to a quarter of the time I arranged the squares, in what seemed to be a random order, and yet got the right answer... still, nice to know my mental sequencing abilities work even if I'm not concentrating on them...
Bahaumaut, I remember Kingdom of Loathing! My Disco Bandit practiced Pock Picketing... Also, did anyone else notice that the music was very reminiscent of the DragonWarrior games? It really brought back memories...
Yeah, music was accidentaly inspired by the 1st Dragon Warrior game. Like, I made the music and then someone pointed out that it shares the same progression for first couple of notes.
I must say, the upgrades were pretty good, the game play decent, and the music was just great! The ending was a little... weird... especially considering the pathos of the intro, but whatever. (I really like that music though...)
