My mortar was crossing enemy line.. a troop spawned and instantly meleed him for 152 damage? Every game has its flaws, and sadly the flaw here is not in the design. You just haven't polished it at all. Can it be hard to put some movement restrictions on moving through solid objects, putting some realistic elements in, such as a limit on grenade distance, enemy troops don't spawn if you're right against the opposing wall? This game makes war look fair and civilized.
6 germans approached the trenches of atleast 8 experienced soilers, threw in 3 grenades and overran the survivors immediately. There's a reason this didn't happen often in war. This game never topped 3 stars for me. The designer seemed intent on adding more content over balancing the current content.
Eh... this game used to run perfectly on my old laptop which could hardly run any games at all. Now it lags beyond playability and i'm on a much better laptop. Dunno whats changed.
Just thought i'd offer my opinion, being as i give this only 3 stars, which is that any game on hard difficulty should be very challenging, and require some trial and error. This merely seems to be impossible, unless 1-2 preset tactics have to be used, in which case playing seems pointless. still normal mode is fairly fun. I just think you need to even out all your defences, as a fully upgraded rocket launcher is only as effective as the ultra gun at the start, if that.
Severely unrealistic outcomes has always ruined this for me.... Tried a numbers tactic of skill, as its always my best man dies first, and an airstrike took out 8 of my 12 men. then, my 3 flamers all near the enemy line just stood there until the enemy overrun. The harshness gives the game appeal at first, but then ruins it.
In comparison to all games of this genre and format, i would say you have a lot to improve on. Like many games, the simple path to victory is to go all offensive.. its almost as un original as a shooter can get without actually being another game, and really needs atleast one thing to make i unique. The only outstanding feature is that upgrades seem to be periodic rather than earned, which mixes up gameplay ever so slighty in a game with other unusual features, but not this.
its a shame, its seems as though you've made a brilliant game and then just given up at the balancing stages. Difficulty should make a game more challenging, not just less possible, or in this game's case impossible.
this game is too stupid sometimes. paratroopers land through the bunker roof, on my best soilder, 4 of them all hugging each other, and beat him to death. not like he'd run away.
