i love how each game is different too. Plus, darkgypsy, that overwhelming you talk about is natural, but you lso have to take into account unit types and tactics, aswell as the provinces' special effects, so its a bit more complicated. My advice would be to use walls and archers for defence, and ninjas for attack, keep tactical research high and dont underestimate defenders!
5/5 game quite a bit of stratergy and its not a 'steamroll' game, i had 16 states and nagasaki with 9 beat me with samurais, i think its 100% good beef.
