Commander doesn't actually run toward mouse. He either runs horizontal or diagonal (45 degrees). It's programmed for keyboard controls, not mouse controls.
Clearly owes a lot to Boss Slayer, but the bosses are new, have good AI, and the auto-aiming allows you to move the ship away from the bottom of the screen, which is nice. Good job.
Really nice game. One bug: When I reset skills, then assign a bunch of skills that should unlock multiple abilities, I only get told about the last ability I unlocked. Also, a description of burning and bleeding would be nice.
Really needs a tutorial. Not just a ton of pages with text up front, but a walkthrough where I do the task, see what happens, then do the next task. Looks like fun, but I have zero idea what to do, even after reading the instructions.
I just wanted to introduce how the upgrading system works to players, maybe I should allow the players to skip / ignore the tutorial after the first one or two
