After the remote, none of the weapons were awesome anymore. Not even the shark gun and exploding revolver that fires explosive bullets that then explodes. I didn't even know you COULD beat the awesomeness of THAT MANY explosions...
Elements were a nice touch to the game. Understanding the difference between the doors on the first choice was a bit confusing, but the other decisions made more sense. 4/5 since the choices don't really affect much, and once I won, the music track in the menu came in on top of the old music, meaning I had two music loops playing at the same time.
If you're shooting for the serial killer achievement, you need to demolish rooms while someone is in them. This is also good to unlock hipsters, since dead people give an automatic 0 stars.
It's a little entertaining to see that after getting a large troop of followers behind you, new guys start staying ahead of you to clear the way. Still wonder why EVERYONE feels the need to visit that SE corner when I'm there, but that's something completely different.
Seems that when I get a lot of witches and archers, projectiles start disappearing from the screen before they hit anything. It's not limited to my side either, since Green's witches often miss my units as well. Is there some sort of hard limit on the # of projectiles on screen at once?
Some of the environments got trippy at points. Wrecked havoc with my usual strategy of letting the differences pop out at me to start, because my eyes kept getting drawn to the weird perspectives. Also, when going to click on the tab for the second game, I accidentally clicked on a Silent Hill LP. Coincidence?
Excellent game, and thus far the full version has a decent plot and some good writing for the jokes. Only problem I've encountered in the game itself is that the healers won't heal an allied unit if an enemy isn't in range for an attack as well.
Kill something with over 6000% more health than me? Sure, no problem. By level 17, the monsters should have more more health than the average Disgaea boss.
Does regeneration do anything in this version? My health doesn't recover in combat with it, and health/mana max out after combat regardless, so it seems rather useless.
The leech spell really helps for the tourney fights. I've finished the first two, and I did it with less than a fifth of the final dude's health in the second tourney and with a low enough level to gain two levels from each tourney. Would try the third, but should probably finish the third island first...
Simple win guide (for the queen) - Inferno - Use golems and ranged attackers. The wall ability of the golem will stop Inferno from advancing. Colossus - Use goblins and hobbits to slow his advance, pelt with ranged attacks. Iron Fortress- Bring Succubi, war machines, and Black Dragon w/ Omega Seal. Kite the goblins into attacking the dragon, while stunning with succubi, machines and spells. Use regen to heal the dragon. Tank the fortress when you kill the goblins. Lords of Hell - Kite one at a time with Black Dragon, use regen to tank. Primal- Lure towards the angel you have. Black dragon + angel can win with regen. Use rangers if it's going slow. End of Hope - Same as Colossus.
Finally made it to the end. I still seem to be missing 2 units on the final page, and the Hercules Gauntlet, Turtle Shell, and Super Robo Suit all give a lower bonus than they say they will (Half for the Turtle and Hercules, and a quarter for the Robo Suit, though it does take away the correct amount of damage). Overall, still the same, though I have to say I enjoyed 3 and 4 more.
Regen with any of the god-tier minions makes holding the front very easy. I've started with the extra hard maps and still haven't lost yet. Might change later, of course.
Fun game definitely. The Mr. Black powerup makes the later levels a breeze, since you can just use reveal then match up 4 black cards to come out on top (by 1 life). I sprung for the extra time money first thing, and ended up #6 in scoring. Very nice.
