A counter after you die showing the amount of time you lasted might be a good, small addition. I prefer the current scoring system over time lasted, though. Couldn't say why really, either...
When I heard Deadeye trying to make love into a weapon of mass destruction, I can't help but think she's a good-hearted version of black mage from 8-Bit Theater :)
Excellent game art wise. It's nice to play games like this and Air Pressure every once in a while, even if they are depressing. Can I get a happy one at some point?
Also, for those who still discover and play this game, the possible interactions I know of are : Person, Radio, Road, Sun, Watch (on self), Birds, Plane (appears only after you click something else), Sonic accessory, Foot of other person. Seem to have found all the endings except the beat up one, and the probably-doesn't-exist happy one.
I find it a bit strange that the golems can still charge me despite the fact they are entangled. I was not enthused to discover that on a magic build run.
Final fight was easy. Level 10 Rogue/Guardian with Corrosive armor (ignore armor), Triple strike (3 hits, each hit fills the chaos bar), Slow (self-explanatory), and Protect (keeps the rogue alive). When he went to clone my guys, I killed the rogue before it could even move. Good times after that little girl/big guy fight and the toads.
It's very strange having a wizard with no offensive spells. At least I have regen and quiken so I don't die/actually hit the opponent with melee attacks :)
Just finished the game (only needed help with the light posts and the second ending). Also read the notes, and the mention of Yume Nikki gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling until I remembered the ending. I shouldn't have spoiled it on TVtropes...
I agree with rbuccigrossi, there should be a category for these games. Perhaps "storytelling" or something similar, since that is really all the games like this, Imortall, Don't Look Back, Air Pressure, and the like encapsulate. As for the game itself, I have to wonder about the voice. It is abusive, yet clearly does love you in a deranged way. I can't help but seeing this game as a prison. As you conform to the voice, everything becomes more defined, but in doing so you are cemented into the place, seeing it as the voice wants you to. If you disobey, the world starts to fall apart. However, if you continue to disobey, the world you know effectively disappears, leaving you wondering what it is you're doing. Almost as though you never knew anything else. A good game with enough of an open end to let people walk away with the meaning they want. 5/5
I was wondering about 2 of the achievements. One is to survive more than 3 days. Another is to leave before day 4. Do they conflict each other, making it impossible to get all 20 achievements?
Some of the shops seem to be bugged. For instance, the blacksmith ring shop says I have only 1 monster claw (I really have 6). The blacksmith before it says the correct amount, though, and I'm wondering how that works out.
@tigerbo2006 Close call is when you freeze time, drop below the screen, and come back up to the top. Remember at all times that freeze time prevents you from dying (except for maybe spikes, avoid those buggers anyway).
Ship pathfinding needs to be worked on. Most of my ships are circling around the entire planet to get to something 10 feet in front of them the other way.
Got on a different computer and played. Being able to view the cinematics allowed for some entertainment. Still, if you want to make a statement, try to do it in a way that doesn't alienate the audience. The message gets lost if you piss too many people off.
