Agreed with everyone's complaint about the controls being imprecise. Last levels weren't hard to figure out, but they were unreasonably difficult to navigate. Indeed, a good quarter of my deaths were because I had to make a blind guess as to where to go from the start because there's no zoom-out function or something similar to see the whole level. Kind of a SHIFT clone.
I probably won't finish this game until an update addresses the control system (why the delay before performing the action, like changing the direction you're walking?) and the inventory system (way too few slots, and no ability to move things around), at the very least. Good visual style, though. And, srsly, no way to resurrect your original pet? Come on. Venture too far out, get a snake's attention, and it's dead.
on level 29, it helps to pause it to get your bearings, then unpause and move, repeat. I only died twice getting through the stage that way, rather than 500.
this is a pretty fun game; rock on. I suppose I would agree with the difficulty of control, since your units are attracted to enemies, but it's not impossible to overcome. doesn't detract from the fun once you get used to it.
I'd prefer not to be too harsh, but the ideas are good yet unrefined. Text is kind of hard to read, the graphics are a bit dated, level design and enemy movements are lacking complexity. On the other hand, how many games on Kong nowadays can be considered entirely original? Very few. "Rip off" might be accurate, but meaningless as a criticism. Something other than achievements (Kong or in-game) should help keep me playing it.
It would be nice to be able to sort your abilities across pages. As it is, you cannot move any abilities from one page to another.
Also, for me, it's been a grind-fest to try to get half-way decent parts; if larger ones don't drop parts more often, this almost isn't worth the effort.
Otherwise, I think it's a sweet concept. 3/5
Good idea with moving elevators for support, and a separate invincible person you control. Balance could be tweaked to be a bit harder; the blood on the walls barely moved past a third from the right (ie, enemies didn't get very far). Upgradable person's weapons would be cool, or some other stats (secondary attacks, speed, etc.). 3/5 for being too easy. Basically bought the best I could for each elevator, and let the game run until I upgraded again.
Not a ton of reason to play past a few levels, as there's not a lot of development (not enough weapons, too few powerups, something beyond the innovation of the chaining system... that is used in other games) to keep my interest. 2/5
