Mediocre at best. The mouse control is really bad. Not being able to move my character where/when I want makes it very frustrating. It should not take so long to actually start having the game get interesting. I have been playing for about 10 minutes and still have yet to unlock a reward, or have anything other than the first three tiers of enemies come after me. And guess what? Since I can't get any rewards, I can't get past the first wave of 3-4 blue biters...so I can't get any more "Awards" to unlock the "rewards."
I may have to play more, but this game seems extremely boring. And the all mouse control thing is really not good. Having separate control of hands and feet is pretty essential, especially when you are dodging through little blobs and trying to smack them at the same time.
I realize that is "a game mechanic," but just because something is in the game on purpose does not make it viable or good.
One more thing - it would be nice to be able to move my ranged troops closer to the action without them stopping to try to take out every dude they get in range of. I want my dwarf dude like 20 yards out from the castle pummeling it while my other guys take care of the rest.
HAHAHAHA
Just got my dragon out and am on the imp level. I have been trying to push up to the castle for like 30 minutes, so I am sitting here typing letting the game play itself on full assault and the dragon finally made it to the castle...of course this all happens while I am critiquing the few flawed elements of game play.
I'm in the same boat as everyone else...it seems at least. Great game, good fun.
Flash is not an advanced enough platform to try to give my troops AI. They need to stand still when I click a point on the map, my pixies need to stop flying all the way to the castle while my group gets reamed, and I need to be able to stop a units attack animation or it needs to stop automatically if I give him a new command. Also, the spells need to apply IMMEDIATELY when I click on the screen, not 3-4 seconds later once the word "Invulnerability" finally shows up on the screen. The animation time makes it impossible to calculate the right moment to try to reapply it. Excellent work, though!! Certainly better than I can do.
