I would suggest to spice up the "game" a bit. Add inverted "K" which would end the game if collected. Set a period of time (2 minutes or so) for people to collect as much as possible.
In another word, redesign it like a *real* game.
Quite fun except that ordinance is underpowered, especially against bears and there are so many of them in the later levels. Still... I manage to beat the game on the first try.
Nonetheless, it is a fun game to play despite the shortcomings; 3/5.
1. Control is a little but sluggish
2. Plant live(s) indicator would be nice
3. Add some upgrades at the end of each wave.
Playable but does not stand out from the crowd, 2/5.
Control can be a little irresponsive at times, plus the save function only works on failing (exhausted all lives). Could be better if these issues are addressed. At current state, 2/5.
Too many command keys, no action point indication, no status (crouch, lie, stand) indication. Shoot Command should change the mouse pointer to crosshair.
I don't think I would enjoy playing this game despite my fondness of Silent Storm and X-COM series.
A hard game to beat, especially on later fights. Your opponents seems to be one step ahead of you in terms of damage. Luck plays a major role in determining the outcome of the battle as well. Overall, 2/5 (because I dislike luck based games, especially if it takes so long to resolve each battle)
Please ignore my previous comment and the idiot who flamed me. Kongregate messed up the comment section while I was commenting on *13 Guradian* (not Gemcraft)
Ahh... Comment section back to normal again.
Not a bad game but it gets tedious travelling in and out to sell the extra stuff. The combat system reminds me of dumbed down version of Diablo's point and click system.
I am giving this a 2/5 for the effort and gameplay, being a demo version and all.
