To defeat the boss you will need a good mix of attack, defence, vitality and magic (and a bit of luck and agility wouldn't go amiss either!). In short, yes he is hard but not impossible. Magic attacks can be powerful and the heal spell is particularly useful against Rangor. edit \| delete

Missions, or a campaighn, we earn about 50 for each level. Melee wepons like swords or hammers. Aliens, nuff said. Dual pistols of some sort. Betrayel penalty. Lower sucide penatly, I mean "Srsly?"
