Nice art. The story is ok. Some puzzles were a let down compared to the rest of the game. Lack of feedbacks or no sense at all leads to a point you end up clicking everywhere and solve puzzles by trial and error instead of logic. For example, having to drink a mug of your's mother blood in front of the mirror in order to break the mirror and find a key...
Cool game overall. I've finished it twice, first time I struggled a bit with commands, but second time it was all good. The mechanic itself is nothing new but the interaction made it interesting. Puzzles are OK too. Two complaints are: sound is not working (using chrome) and the flipping blocks sometimes work others they don't.
Level progression and new mechanics every now and then kept me playing until the end. My only complaint is about the music. I don't know if it is because it is too repetitive or because it resets everytime you change levels and it starts with that "TUM", became annoying towards the end.
Thank you for playing until the end! Sorry that you do not like the music, there is a mute button in the top-right corner if you would like to use that :)
For a moment I thought it would be a game like "this is not a minimalist game" or "upgrade complete". I was expecting to find a brush to improve game art lol.
It is very short and has no ending but it kept me curious on what would happen next. You should continue it.
Is there a reason to NOT hold fire button all the time? If there is none, a toggle autofire would be handy. Wouldn't right mouse button a better option for sprint other than left shift?
Sprint will be changed, I stated that in previous comment! don't worry, And I believe it's good to give the player the ability to decide when he want to shoot even tho in high scores it's almost everytime.
EDIT:
Automatically sprint was implemented!
EDIT 2 (11/05/2017):
Auto fire will be implemented in the next week due to the high demand.
EDIT 3:
Auto fire implemented! look at the update notes on version 1.8!
Enemies that spawn on top of you giving you ZERO reaction time aren't that great in shooter games where you are supposed to dodge stuff. An animation showing where they are going to "land" would be nice, this way it would be dodgeable requiring skill instead of just pure luck/frustration as it is now.
Just got my impossible badge, advice for those trying: SETUP 1(most used) bullet speed +30%, 1 heart, star drop, shield drop, more items, more magnet, 5 bombs. You just need 5 diamonds for a star rank this way. Do at least 2 waves on your own, if you drop 2~3 shields (pretty common) you can get 5 diamonds, the rest of the stage you just use bombs. Since fire rate is higher and waves come faster sometimes you can clear 2 waves with a single shield. SETUP 2 (used on last boss) pacifist, -30% attack, no death bomb, - 30% bullet speed, 5 hearts for stages and you can add more items and heart drop for bosses (even starting at rank A you will get a star rank if you finish because of graze points). Most used character was Matt 1-1 and always natalie 2-X for pacifist because of graze. Setting background to 0 you get a black screen, high contrast is good to know bullets hitbox. Play on full screen (press ctrl+plus sign), it gives you more room to movement mistakes, that helped me a lot.
Eternal dilemma: Play without high contrast and try to guess bullets hitbox; Play with high contrast and get hit because you lost track of your white hitbox dot in the middle of that myriad of white bullets dots.
People giving low rates obviously don't know how to rate a game. Just because you don't like the genre it doesn't mean you should rate it low. It is a hardcore action platform game. For this kind of game it is really well made and easily deserves at least 4/5. I have only a few complaints and some of them i'm not even sure if it's the game or if it's my computer that can't handle it well. 1 - It's rare, but sometimes i just can't double jump at all; 2 - Dying to spikes/lava beside me about 1 second after I've already stopped moving due to slippery commands is quite annoying. 3 - Some stages like stage 30 or Bonus C you either do it on the first time or you keep dying until "next eclipse" happens because of the trap/enemie reset system. 4 - Due to that previous complaint, lv 40 is actually way easier than lv 30 to do, it just takes longer to complete.
Having some of the traps/enemies being reset while others aren't is a burden. 1 because you are not able to do the stage by "memory" and 2 because sometimes you have to just stand there and wait until everything get in position otherwise it is impossible to do it.
SPOILER SPOILER XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Trying to figure it out: What makes less sense? The fact that she needed to go back in time and change the past in order to get the ingredients to make her time machine work or the fact that she built the time machine 10 years AFTER committing suicide? Is it the "Red Room"? (not everyone will get the reference...)
When you get a level up reward from "monster power 7+ challenge" your "XP to next level" also increases. So the earlier you do them the worse it is for you, since you will have to grind more and more in order to level up later. It is not really a big deal but the concept of punishing players who were able to do those challenges earlier in the game (which is probably harder) is somewhat weird.
IMO The stars should be unique instead of the current grinding system. This way you would have to pick up every star in game (no need to be in the same race), what would "manigfy" the track and the "secrets" in each map.
A chart for each pilot would be helpful. Aceleration, top speed, control...
minimap/velocimeter/nitro bonus on start for accelerating at the right time wouldn't be bad also.
Different commands for drift/jump. Also, jump should last a little longer to be functional (jump over water and oil pool)
Other than that it is a great game i really liked these kart games back then, specially diddy kong rancing for N64.
It’s about 80-ish MB of data. I’ve heard other reports of my previous game taking a while to load, maybe it’s just a rare bug w/ Kong?
