So where to start... should it be with the obvious pokemon rip off, the terrible game play mechanics, or maybe how every time I start to strategize my hand changes.
1) As previous commenters have noted the game is slow and the animations while neat lose their appeal after the first hundred times you see them. Also why do I have to evolve my poke- no that's copyrighted- monsters every match? Probably to make a token attempt at differentiation. And then there is the whole all our monsters die after two turns until one of us gets lucky and keeps one for a turn. Then he evolves it, thus making it better than all the others you could ever play. Causing that player to win by default. Unless you happen to have two monsters that have enough AP to finish him off and can outflank your opponent. I know lets all just throw monsters at the problem until it resolves itself. (½)
2) Do you remember Flappy Bird? It didn't last long once the folks at Nintendo saw how it stole the pipes from Super Mario and sued the developers. That was because the background looked the same you have a less imaginative version of a multi-million dollar franchise.
3) This is tagged as a strategy game but every turn my options are changed you cannot think ahead if every turn is a blank slate? If I have what I need in my hand and it is randomly thrown away at the end of ever turn it is impossible not to be a bit irate at that.
There you have it an unimaginative game that takes the essence of pokemon, strategy, and CCG games, boils them down into one mediocre product, and puts it out on the internet for human consumption. Enjoy or don't for the next few weeks until Nintendo's lawyers finish the cease and desist order and it is taken of Kongregate. (2/2)
