I don't understand, how come all of my comments are being downvoted? Not one single comment has included anything hateful or offensive, in fact I'm trying to be helpful, and yet it seems the entire internet community is against me.
@I Pwn All: Of course not. There's no reason having a different browser would make his networking engine run faster (least of all Internet Explorer, yuck!). As for load times, I think Chrome is maybe milliseconds faster, you probably wouldn't notice.
Something I found about the game: For now, don't enable voice chat in survival mode, for some reason in survival mode specifically it consumes a lot of RAM and may cause your machine to run out of memory. I'm going to bring this up with the developer ASAP
I'm not sure when this happened, but at some point an update must have broken something because the camera has become incredibly glitchy and jumpy. Different view angles cause the camera to shift forward and backward, which is very distracting. I also hate that every time I'm so much as grazed by a bullet it takes me out of scope. When I'm about to pull of the perfect headshot and some chucklehead hits me with a handgun, it means I have to take the time to line up my shot all over again - which generally means I'm screwed.
ok lemme try again:
What you just went through is the kind of logic programmers go through on a daily basis... I lol'd. If only programming were that easy... sigh
Sorry for the inconvenience, Andrew. I have removed the ability to fly up or down, although apparently I forgot to remove the instructions for that. Terribly sorry (and I will not be fixing it any time soon, I switched computers recently and in the process lost the source code). Perhaps at some point I will revisit Geo-Gun and try my hand at creating a new version (complete with game modes, leaderboard, and possibly even item-mall). Until then, please ignore those particular instructions.
@ilindil: You CAN :) go to cs-portable.com. You can download for iPad/iPhone, Android, or Windows :)
BTW, nice game, but I really hate the safe-place penalty. It's very finicky (sometimes it would kick in when I was standing too close to a wall), and in some levels when I'm exploring tunnels it suddenly kicks in and I have no hope of getting out before I die
Really fun, except when I play in fullscreen mode every so often I completely lose all control and I'm just stuck getting completely slaughtered and I have to reload the game to get un-stuck... otherwise it's really fun (btw it only happens in fullscreen, might be a Kong problem I haven't tested other games...)
@Woderwaffle: If you press SHIFT, you can switch to first-person cam. Not really what you wanted, but I thought I'd point that out.
@Impuredeath: Ahem... sorry, my next game is actually going to be an FPS, although it's going to be something graphically like that popular block-building game whose name starts with M, with zombies.
I'm thinking of making an MMOFPS out of this game. The MMO would include some of the same mechanics, but with more features such as item store, character customization, and more game modes. What do you think? Should I go for it? :) Vote + if you want to see NecroPixels MMO
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Works great in single-player, but when I joined a multiplayer game it took a really long time to load, there were several wierd 'clones' of me running around with my exact movements (and other people, too), and it just got worse. I will look into how to fix this, sorry if anybody else experienced these problems.
