@nutochi: YEP! I was wondering when someone would notice. Thanks to whoever made Punk-O-Matic for a neat little game that let a total musically stunted guy like me to make something!
@Moosebutton: Sorry, I meant to fix the tutorial. It was changed to because selects the chat text box which was really annoying.
EDIT: Oh wait a minute. There is a 'Select Character' system... but that's not really customization. Also, it's really buggy (on the very first tank, click a few times to the left. now it takes a few clicks to the right in order to switch to the next tank... )
sorry, but i dont realy see watelse i can do with customization(im nowere near a good enuf programer to do something like modcart) ther will be bases, and gun parts of the tank changeable to but i havent had time make any models. i will fix the problem of clicking to far in the moring, thanks for your feedback =]
A few things:
One, use a custom GUI skin. It looks wierd to use the default Unity skin
Two, I don't really like the controls. Would be better if the mouse controlled aim and WASD controlled movement.
Three, there needs to be some sort of indication of an enemy's death. Try the Detonator Explosion Pack, they really look good and are free. Same for the player, it looks wierd when the game just *abruptly* shows Game Over. Try showing the tank blow up, wait a second or two, *then* show game over.
Four, where's my health? Give me a health meter!!!
Finally, you should work on that Game Over screen. The 'Save Score' button is on top of the score display, and is off center.
Also, don't say anything in the description that isn't true. No tank customization, don't say so in the description.
ive changed the skin and all the 2d(GUI) work. i may do explosions in the future if i change the bad guys im not shour what you mean no health bar the stars in the top left are your helth they decrese as u get hit? and im also not shour wat you mean about the save score button on my screen it sits 1pixel below the "score"
(continued) in fact, this same AI technique was used in the game F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2, just to give you an idea of what the AI will be like in my game.
@cedric1234: I wanna see *you* code better AI. lol, just kidding. Don't worry, the next game will use an incredible AI technique called Goal Oriented Action Planning... basically the AI will actually be able to formulate plans to attack the player instead of standard search-and-destroy. They will also be able to aim ;)
Sorry, I'm stopping work on Geo-Gun. I'm doing this so that I can focus on Geo-Gun 2, which will have a lot more 'profesional' look to it and better design all-around. I think Geo-Gun was fun, but now I want to re-do it, and do it right this time. Hopefully you guys enjoy the next one, and hopefully it gets way more popularity! ;)
In case anyone notices: I know the panels move really fast sometimes. I found that it only happens if the page is still loading, and they return to normal afterward, so I'm not entirely sure if they're my fault... ?
@Draliew: Perhaps I'll change that.. add a more formal 'Please Wait' screen and not let the host play until someone joins, that way they don't have an advantage like that, because that would be incredibly annoying and unfair.
