handles lag badly. Momentary before the fat zombies will result in the player running through the zombie instead of bouncing. Seems to be a clone of subway surfers. I'd say SS is a little better despite the nicer visuals on display here due to level design and more interesting boosts. I generally dislike the forced artificial longevity created by linking the achievements to the scoring via multiplier and staggering them so extremely.

Fantastic design visually and really explores the possibilities of each new mechanic.. I liked the pacing, too, and enjoyed the breather at the beginning of a new level set. You've taken the 'one button game' to a new level of elegance. I did find the automatically switching focus frustrating sometimes as it sometimes seemed a little off, sometimes you'd be paused while using one yellow and be able to see a different yellow is highlighted. It feels like it's off by the time between pressing and releasing click. Only annoying on level 57 though.

When the comments are this vitriolic the game's rating has usually tanked to 3-3.5. Why are wholly negative posts being voted highly yet the game's rating hasn't suffered? Kongregate please investigate whether any rating fraud has taken place here. And I'll echo the others in expressing distate with badges going to pay-to-win games, which has become more and more common.

The A+ times seem crazy generous. Except for about 2 levels my first completion time was A+. Sometimes knocking off 5 or more seconds. Anyway, great level design really makes this platformer stand out.

@ raistlin Data Cube was changed because the drawing cards mechanic was OP, not because it was UP. For Pvp that is. Several card denial/drawing/recovery cards have been changed. @ Boomsky If you're stuck you can always ask in the game chat for some advice. I've completed a couple of campaigns and don't think the difficulty is excessive, especially using Xyl, who have a lot of +base hp cards and mages. I hope this game can get badges or the community may die out before I get a chance to get into Pvp.

hobocannibal: you will only break asteroids while pressing up. If you're going too fast to control or feel your angle of approach is poor, break the next asteroid or two. If you're going slowly and/or the asteroid is very big and/or you you will glance it, don't press up. If you don't want to lose your combo, you're going slowly AND hitting a big asteroid directly in the middle... just spend a second repositioning and fire yourself back the way you came.

This is not a luck game, this is a skill game. A high combo is easy to maintain - if you screw up due to poor reaction time or timing you can always fire yourself off in an undesirable direction if you feel it's worth the risk. The loss from an unfortunate landing at a bad angle on two nearby asteroids can minimised by bouncing from one to another and back to climb up in increments without losing the combo, which is only lost when spending too much time on one asteroid. With a basic understanding of the game's mechanics, my "average score per last 3 games played" rose up very steadily as I played. First I was getting 300 000s, then 500 000s, then 700 000s, then 900 000s. This would not be the case in a heavily luck dependent game. Luck will throw you into a situation - 100 times over the course of a single game. How you handle it is down to your mechanics: reaction time; timing; and decision making.

Some cool ideas. But patience is the key to success here - I'd get more out of a faster paced test of mechanical skill.

Despite the retro appearance, lots of hallmarks of shitty flash games are included, grinding/upgrade system and a carebear difficulty curve. Modern features actually worthy of inclusion would be a firing toggle... Otherwise pretty good...

Brilliant dialogue. Gets really hard well before the player has actually got used to the mechanics... but I guess that's fitting for a retro remake. I was surprised obstacles were not just a question of technical performance but often also didn't have an obvious way to complete it. Nice job.

Good twist with some potential, unfortunately the failure to incorporate any of the many gameplay orientated innovations arkanoid has seen results in a very dull game. Play some modern clones to see how lacking the game is in certain areas, from paddle and ball physics to creative powerups. Could also use some modification to punish overly conservative gameplay racking up the multipliers.

I'd have to agree this is way to derivative of OBB to go without giving that game credit. Because the types of challenges in this have transparently been pretty much lifted wholesale.

boss can be killing in half a dozen clicks quite easily every time. go right up to boss first, clicking after the 4th stone (should take ~1/3rd life), go all the way to the other end for the next four, click twice a few second apart to stay near the end while you wait for the next four rocks, keep moving forwards while they drop, go up to him and click 2 more times from a short range to finish.
