Initially this one was quite fun. The art is sweet, the soundtrack is epic, and it looked like some kind of story might actually develop at the start . But the game really lacks any depth beyond the first area. Any semblance of story peters out and gives way to a long, slogging grindfest and the talent trees really only allow for one specific play style per class Since every enemy follows the exact same attack pattern, the tedium sets in that much quicker. I'm fine grinding out levels or money, but only if it serves a greater purpose (a build that won't be effective until late game, financing an alternate weapon to deal with a new baddie type, etc.). Maybe look at something like Sonny 2 for ways to keep things interesting in the talent tree and engaging in the storykline.
This is the most fun I've had typing since Mario taught me how back in the day. I would love to see this with more levels, units, upgrades, and a slightly higher difficulty level. Sequel?
just because it has a "high concept" doesn't mean it should get high ratings. compared to others in the art game genre, this one is pretty meh on all fronts. 3/5
Good art, interesting ideas, but feels like it was just thrown together. Gameplay is imbalanced (dexterity is the only stat you really need) battles have no real excitement involved, and there's not much original going on except for little bits of humor and the bizarre assortment of movie quotes after every combat sequence. If it really is a labor of love, at least put a little more effort into the "labor" part.
minor gameplay issues aside, this game is awesome if only for the sound. The maxxed weapon fire rates sync up with the background music to make an entirely new beat. Just an awesome detail. 4.5/5
I'm not entirely sure why everyone is griping about upgrades. This game would be way too easy with +damage, reload, etc. Well made, well balanced and just frustrating enough to give me a kick when I beat those later levels.
It's a fun game, well made, controls almost identically to RoS. Which isn't a bad thing, except that the sounds and music are taken from it as well. I know music and sound aren't that huge, and if you play at work, you don't really hear them, but it's little details like those that separate the good from the awesome. 4/5
looks good, plays well...just one thing...maybe take some acting lessons or at least run your lines a couple of times before you record them. The little mispronounced words/ awkward emphases make it difficult to try and get involved in the storyline.
