I thought it was an interesting concept and a fun game up until the challenge level. That's when the in-precise timing and controls really began to make itself felt.
Pretty fun but there's sooo much microtransaction begging.
Pay to open this dungeon, pay to get this chest, pay to change your appearance, pay a monthly fee to keep more random items.
It was the monthly fee that boggled my mind. A (small) one of fee I wouldn't have minded, and would've gladly done as a tip of the cap to this otherwise excellent game. But there is way too much money being asked for and way too often.
Hi psychocamel, thanks for your thoughts. Gary explains what can be bought over the course of the first few campaign levels—all accompanied by free 'pizza' so you don't actually have to spend any cash to get the sample good in question. Your first chest, paid adventure, figure, multiplayer party, etc., are all free! And after these tutorials, there are NO requests for money, as far as I know. Gary never mentions pizza in a context where he's not giving you some to spend. We want to teach our players where they CAN spend money if they want, but it's by no means a necessity and we don't intend to be intrusive with it. I hope this explanation eases your mind :) Have a great day!
Running out of fuel mid-air and exploding when landing would have levelled up you is an extremely irritating way to die.
After it happened the third time I stopped playing.
I killed the doll with a flying spike, caused the game to glitch out BAD.
It did the slowmo thing without saying fatality. After that the devices bar emptied, I could remove items but the sprite of the item stayed there.
I clicked the trash can which removed all items but the screen looked the same.
Refreshing the window fixed the problems.
Really fun game. Enjoyed it the whole way through.
As others have said more upgrades would be nice, a bit of variety to them too (like additional weapons or some such).
No game is perfect, but this one is really well done with tight controls and engaging gameplay.
Hey psychocamel, Glad you are liking the game and thank you so much for the feedback!
