It even says in the game that the developer's favourite control option is 1, then why is crappy option 2 the default? Anyway, when you choose the right control option it's a pretty good game.
There should be a button in the upgrade menu to return to the starting screen for when you want to start a new game for example to change difficulty. Also, the movement of the camera when you move the mouse is very annoying. Other than that it's pretty good game.
The game is quite hard at first, but once you understand how everything works it gets a bit easier and really fun the experiment with different builds.
For people who are stuck on getting the "dragon pound" badge: get the quest from the guy in the cave on the outermost right side of the island. Get dragon blood by killing a wyrm underground. after a while you can get a new quest from the guy in the cave, catch 2 wyrms by placing nets near them. Then go back to the cave, place the wyrms in the cage, feed them until they become a cocoon, i used coal but you can also use other stuff, like meat. leave the cocoons in the cage, after a while, 2 baby dragons will hatch and you will get the badge. (Note: i'm writing this from my memory so the details might not be 100% correct but this should help you on your way.)
What's the point of having equipment when you can't get new ones? What's the point of having a level when you can't increase it? What's the point of selecting attacks when it's not your turn? This game is a disgrace to the rpg genre.
Ignore my previous comment, it has come to my attention that there is already a button to reset all you purchased upgrades for free, I just didn't see it.
This is a really good game, except I have one complaint. When replaying a level the amount of money that you get is much lower than when you first complete it. So when you invested in the 'wrong' upgrades, like I did at first, it takes a lot of grinding. In fact I didn't want to endlessly redo a level for money so I Figured it would be more enjoyable to simply restart the game. So either the reward for replaying should be higher or there should be an option to reset your upgrades and (partly) regain your money.
First spend all your money on marine and squad upgrades, don't buy relic upgrades. Focus mainly on offense. Then start upgrading medic, when you have a decent amount of upgrades for the medic, use 1 medic in battle, the others should be marines. Then start buying upgrades for heavy, when they have a decent amount of upgrades, use 1 medic, 2 heavy and 3 marines. In battle, afer getting all troops, spend action points on damage upgrades, deflect isn't necessary. Finally, spend money on upgrades for forcer, so you can complete all challenge levels.
I first thought a score of 3000 wouldn't be achievable for me, but by steadily improving my own high scores on the levels that I like i'm slowly getting closer and closer to that 3000. I still have a bit of a way to go, but i'm confident that I'll get it eventually.
