Huh. I played this on newgrounds before, and I did the opposite of what the narrator told me to. (It just seemed like the thing to do - the narrator seemed creepy.) When I played it just now, I did everything I was told. Boy was I surprised - everything gained detail, but the color was lost. It was also less creepy when I played it that way. Everything seemed more...stable? Hm. Very interesting. Eager to see what else you come up with.
I enjoyed the collection aspect a whole lot, the friends were all fun and unique.
Random idea/suggestion: If you ever made Tanaka 2 or somesuch, maybe make it more of an exploration game? And each friend has a little talent that helps you explore further into the world/get to the party?
